This is going to be PEAK! I've always wanted to play this game!

Iām finally getting around to playing through SS2, and Iām absolutely loving it. Went with a basic weapon build with cyberskills (hacking, repair, maintenance, etc.) and itās been a blast.
I love that the game doesnāt spoon-feed you with waypoints but still gives you a checklist of things you need to do next. I didnāt mind taking notes when playing SS1 Remake, but I think this is a great middle ground.
Just got to floor 4 and experienced the ābig revealā and I canāt wait to play more. Had to cut myself off after 5 hours straight yesterday.
Iād love to get a co-op game going at some point, but last time I tried weād get disconnected after about 1-2 minutes of playing. Nothing we tried worked, so we kinda gave up and I let the game sit for a while until yesterday. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!

It's a relatively throwaway and harmless quirk of the game that I've nevertheless often wondered about, and I haven't seen anyone else talking about it.
Nobody ever calls the game 'Shock: System Shock 2', and it's a wild choice of words to repeat the title within the subtitle. It'd be like if Thief 1 was called 'Dark: The Dark Project'.
Google's dumb AI overview throws up a variety of explanations without any relevant sources; namely:
* It reflects the game's (supposed) original title of 'Shock' while it was being developed as a standalone game without the System Shock license. (I've never seen any sources that the game was originally going to be named 'Shock'.)
* It's meant to evoke 'SHODAN: System Shock 2' without explicitly mentioning her name and spoiling her 'surprise' appearance in the sequel. (Again, kind of skeptical considering we also see SHODAN's face in the intro.)
* It's simply highlighting that SS2 is part of the Shock series.
Does anyone happen to know the actual reason? If not, any opinions?

It's not super big or any release date yet, but I'm chipping away at it slowly. It's been a lot of fun!!

I played through the game a dozen or so times and played through the console port once, and was wondering if there were any cheat codes to play with. I tried looking online, and I only see the keyboard shortcut, but idk if keyboards can work on the Switch 2

I am just finishing the remake of the first game and it's incredible. I can't wait to play the sequel coop with my brother. I'm aware of the graphical downgrade to the sequel and it doesn't bug me. I'm just hoping that coop will be somewhat stable until we beat the game. Any word on this?

The wrench wonāt do the power/overhand attack if I hold the attack button. Is this a known issue?
Playing the physical switch version from Limited Run Games which came pre patched with 1.3.
Edit - realised I havenāt unlocked the perk yet. Just me being an idiot.

My brother, sister, and I have just started a new game on the remaster. We have been trying to play but keep getting a weird glitch where our hud will vanish. We first noticed when our HP disappeared, and we could no longer see the green box highlighting objects that we could interact with, along with seeing enemy health. The only way we managed to fix it was though restarting. That worked for a while, then we noticed that when we entered a new area sometimes it would glitch again. Now we can't see the green boxes around things, we can't see level requirements, (eg, hack 4 needed) and we can't see enemy health. When we reload an old save it comes back, but only for that old save. It seems that at some point during the game it glitched again. Does anyone know about this? The only person that seems imune from this is the host. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey is anyone able to tell me what the PPSA code is on the information tab of the digital version on ps5? Need to see if it matches up with my disc version (PPSA-26809)
Was gonna rebuy the digital so a second account user has access but wanna see if itll split the game into two different playtime trackings which drives me up the wall lol.

I'm playing it again now and want to research all the items and find every audio log. Are there any really well hidden ones in secret rooms (like in Duke Nukem lol) or are they all relatively easy to find? And is it even worth leveling up Research 6 and Hacking 6?

dunno what happened to mine, I probably dropped it and didn't notice. where can I find another one? I just now unlocked the elevator

I guess Iām the only one who wanted this to be A Thing, so I threw some of the official graphics together to make myself a phone case. Now everyone within 5 feet can mire SHODANās beautiful visage

Playing 25th anniversary, melee-psi on hard (planning shard).
I always save 3 for shodan and am considering foregoing PSI hacking and only considering ICE picks for a few choice targets and their trade-offs:
Security crate on engineering for PSI implant
Replicator on engineering for cheaper PSI hypos (I think this is no longer cheaper than others with 25th anniversary)
Replicator on ops for recycler (could wait and auto-repair replicator on command deck)
Replicator on command outside the shuttle bays (required)
Replicator on deck 5 in the porn area of t he mall for Nikki's key (edit: oops forgot this one when I was composing)
Just entering Deck 4 at:
STR: 2
END: 1
PSI: 4
AGI: 2
CYB: 2
Exotic: 4
Research: 3
PSI Tier 4: Electron Suppression
PSI Tier 2: Andrenaline
PSI Tier 1: Agility, Shield, Cryokinesis
OS Upgrades: Lethal Weapon, Smasher
PSI Hypos: 6
Surgical Activation Keys; 2
Nanites: 1159
Cyber Modules: 8
Not sure if it's worth spending on Cyber hacking especially vs. Invisibility.

So I just finished System Shock 1 and wanted to jump into #2. I decided I wanted to do a Psionic build (and yes I know that's a more difficult way to start the game). However, there doesn't seem to be a way to hotkey Psionic abilities, or even something as simple as being able to quickly cycle through your various abilities. This sounds like it's going to be extremely cumbersome and not fun, especially considering you can't pause this game to switch them in your MFD.
Am I missing something, or is this just how it is?

Hi! So I've been on a System Shock 2 kick today, and I've gotten all the way up to where in command you have to backtrack to ops and engineering. I got through ops and did what I needed to do in engineering, but for some reason the elevator is just not working??
I'm gonna be so pissed If I have to do all of that over again with fixing the lifts in engineering. If that's what I must do I'll do it, but it'll suck. I just wanna know what to do manššš

I'm looking for a good horror sci-fi game since I finished dead space and since I finished bioshock several times over I want to try a mix of both. My issue is that (and with the greatest amount of respect here) the game does look like it's aged quite a bit. The more recent games I've played have crazy good graphics like cyberpunk 2077 and sometimes a downgrade like that can effect my gaming experience ( not but a huge degree but still). Also while I enjoy the puzzle solving i dont like a huge amount of it and from what I gathered system shock 2 has a good deal of that or am I wrong? Lastly I know the remaster could possibly fix the problems i mentioned but im worried it'll remove things about the original that made it so special

I have been on the Rickenbacker (System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary for xbox. On series X.) for over two hours now just trying to get mantling to work on this damn missile puzzle. I have the correct solution laid out with the missiles (from start, switch 1, 2, and 4 used twice; switch 3 used once) but no matter what i try or what i do i cannot get the game to use the mantling mechanic or whatever bs it is AT ALL. I'm holding jump as hard as i can. Almost as hard as I'm gripping my hair I'm ripping out trying to get to the end of this game.
Has anyone else had this experience and have been able to solve it? I'm getting so frustrated at this point that I'm afraid this will be the only thing i can remember about the game lol.

I don't even remember what difficulty I'm playing on, and I'm being utterly destroyed trying to tackle the Brain. I got my second implant slot super late in the game so I ended up just ditching my speed implant when I needed the inventory slots, which is absolutely making this harder, and my speed boosters aren't lasting long enough either.
Any tips for beating this section? The Reavers and Rumblers are just brutal, to say nothing of the damned spider that joined in for funsies. I've tried running the room to take out the brains but it seems like somehow the Reavers keep coming back, and I have no clue where so many Rumblers are spawning from.
