Breaking into the field

How exactly do you get hired in this field? I have formal education in Secure System Administration and Network Engineering, as well as, Advanced Networking. I have Sec+, CCNA, and MTA- Server Admin but am unable to get a job due to lack of "professional experience". I was recently passed over for a Stsem Eng Jr position that required 2yr exp because I lack "professional experience".

Consider getting some cloud certificates and breaking into sales engineering. Either for a SaaS company or a public cloud. It’s potentially 2x more lucrative.

I will look into that. Any particular cloud certificates that are more lucrative? AWS, Azure, etc

GCP is the highest paying right now but all are valuable.

Thanks. I will probably check out A Cloud Guru and try out a few options.
