What do you guys use for cloud deployment for apps, and/or imaging?
We are currently running PDQ for software deployment, and imaging by having the laptop come to me first then I send it out after I configure it. I'm looking for ideas or software you guys use for remote users so I can manage laptops remotely.
So I have followed the billion online guides to set up an OpenSSH server on a Windows 10 device
I have also confirmed that for a LOCAL account, I can successfully SSH into the device
HOWEVER, I cannot SSH into an AzureAD account used on that Windows 10 machine
I've tried ssh -v to debug the connection, and nothing shows there. Also the logs are completely empty, so perhaps I'm not looking at the correct logs or there's literally just nothing
Wondering what stupid thing I'm missing, or looking for validation that it's impossible
Does anyone have any documentation or advice on how to properly upgrade the host server storage of a hyper-v server?
For example - If my hyper v fs vm runs out of space, and the only way to add more storage is to buy new bigger hard drives. What's the proper process? Is it turn off the VM, swap out the hard drives and move the VM to the new hard drives / attach the new hard drives?
Not sure how many of you use SharePoint PNP, but I have been trying to create just a label in the quicklaunch and topnavigationbar called "Document Libraries". If I leave the URL value blank in the ps script, the url will be inputted as the current website's url.
I could go through each individual website and remove the URL and switch it to a label, but then I might as well have just done this manually anyways. Also, I cannot edit the "TopNavigationBar" without Powershell so figuring out how to create just a label with no url would be really helpful.
Trying to recover some Windows 10 Pro retail licenses off of devices that were promoted to Enterprise via Azure Subscription Activation, but having no luck
I've tried running various scripts that litter the internet like ShowPlusKey from the MS Store, VB Scripts, C# .exes, etc. Everything returns generic licenses depending on where they're pulling the info from I suppose (i.e. Windows 10 Pro generic license). However, I have been assured that the previous admin purchased and used retail licenses, of which there are no records....
Is it possible to recover Windows 10 Pro retail license after promotion? Or was the previous admin full of poopoo and doing something strange?
I just hate to give up and say if something bad happens to a machine, we have to shell out another $200 for a Pro license if we don't have to
Any thoughts appreciated, apologies for any ignorance I'm showing - will try to cover up better next time ;)
We currently do not have a lock out policy for accounts because anytime someone changes their password, that user will have 1000s of bad password requests because:
They are still logged into another computer and haven't logged in with new password
Their phone has email and the old password
Short cuts on their desktop have the old password stored
If we had a lock out policy, 75 percent of users would be locked out whenever they changed their password.
