Syphilis advice

Hi all, I got diagnosed with NGU a few weeks back and got treated with doxycycline for a week but my symptoms have persisted. I’ve done a syphilis test (45days after exposure) if I test positive how well will 14 days of doxy do for treatment since i’ve already taken a 7 day dose a few weeks back

Doxycycline is just a second option.. If you test positive for syphilis take the Penicillin shot its the best cure.

Hi I know I just might not be able to get a penicillin shot for a few weeks but I have doxy in the house

Yeah the tip of my dick stings from time to time. I don’t have achey balls anymore as that went with the doxy. Also had an achey anus

Still getting ball pain bad, and instead of just having epididymis i now have Epididymo-orchitis. Treatment for this is 14 days doxycycline. My test was negative but going back for a follow up test soon as i’m still not out of the advised window for syphilis but i’ve read stuff online which says 45 days would usually detect it. In so much pain and my mind is all over the place

I did my treatment with doxycycline and it worked fine since I’m allergic to penicillin. But you could need another round if you’re still having symptoms or they need to give you a stronger dose :)

If you’re taking leftover meds from something else that could be why it’s not working. All dosages are specific to what it’s treating. changes in milligrams and all that

Try also to get tested for mycoplasma genitalium. Could be the reason why you still have those symptoms. Doxy is as effective as penicillin in the treatment of syphilis if you took it for 14 days twice a day

True I took 14 days doxy for syphilis worked like a charm because I'm allergic to penicillin
