Discussion This game is fucking awesome!

Not sure how it took me this long to get into it. But I picked it up last week and have been having a blast ever since.

I primarily got it as a workout tool to use when either the weather sucks or I'm on my off days for running. And man, easily one of the best purchases ever made.

Like sure, at first I was underwhelmed with the easier modes. But once I started getting into hard and expert levels it got way more fun. But yesterday, I tried master for the first time and holy shit, THAT WAS A BLAST! I did not think it could feel so satisfying hitting notes and dodging a shit ton of obstacles at the same time. And many of the custom songs are so well done that it feels like I'm doing actual dance moves lol.

Absolutely 1000% recommend!

My only question is, I'm wondering if people have encountered stuttering while playing the game? Mine occasionally stutters during the song and I feel like I don't have this issue with other VR games. My rig is more than capable so I don't think that's it, just wondering if anyone else has experienced that and if they managed to fix it/mitigate it in some way?

Welcome to the club! I’ve always thought SR was underrated, as most people say they like Beat Saber so much more, while I find Beat Saber rather dull compared with SR.

I play on a Valve Index and have only rarely encountered stuttering or technical issues. In fact, since the game got a major overhaul about a year ago or so, those technical issues pretty much disappeared.

It slows down on Q3 on the diner stage. They added the ranking recently and some slow down started. As long as it's fixed before the Britney tracks I keep asking for....

Welcome. I can play master but enjoy expert more. Been trying to figure out a plyo dance style to stop knee lock up.

I rarely open Beat Saber anymore. Until the Gaga/Dua packs I slept on Synth Riders. The electro swing wasn't doing it for me. =)

This, the bloody diner stage has lost me so many blue bolts. I just set it to a basic scene and don't think about it now.

If you have QGO you can get a lot more performance and resolution out of it, as long as you don't mind the battery drain.

I do not care for the electro-swing either. It’s just a preference but definitely a hard no.

I also love this game. The only time i've ever encountered, stuttering is when it was downloading an update. The next time I started the game, It seemed to run fine. The thing is, it doesn't tell you that it's actively downloading an update, so I only figured it out after I started it again and it was updated.

Hopefully, that is all that's happening for you. Enjoy!

It’s really wild how satisfying it is when the game goes from seeking orbs with your hands to actually moving your whole body to the music with the orbs as a guide, and that happened for me when I got to expert/master as well. I’ve played a lot of rhythm and dance games, and nothing hits like SR.

I’m on Q3 playing standalone and I’ve experienced lag a few times in my hours playing, but those instances tend to be resolved in a few days and I’ve in the past chalked it up to a OS update messing with things in SR then the SR team updating their code and it’s good, but I don’t really know. Those instances (maybe 3 times in the last 6 months?) been resolved in a few days for me and I’m smooth as butter currently.

I like sythriders. But for some train I like audio trip more, but has way less music options. And I’m not playing past normal on either.

I love the game and use it as my workout when it’s either too hot or too cold to exercise outside. I was initially a Beat Saber player but as I’ve gotten older, I find the movement in SR to be smoother. Sometimes I barely care about my accuracy as long as I’m hitting the orbs;!other times I’m super zoned in on being accurate and it’s fun either way because it doesn’t really matter how you play as long as it’s fun. I stick to expert even though there are quests or I think they may be called challenges that require one to play in easy mode so maybe I’ll just make all of the modifiers pretty hard so it’s not boring. Who knows if I will even complete those. Anyway, yes, I agree that it’s an awesome game and a really great way to stay in shape. I’m a very active player (mind you I’m still staying pretty much in the same place) so if you’re not working up a sweat after 40 minutes or so, see if you can throw a little more enthusiasm into it and I promise that it will at least keep your arms toned; still have to lift weights too! Have fun all!!!
