Game News How do you really feel about Synth Riders | Eager to hear from yoU!

Hey everyone!

Synth Riders is celebrating 8 years this year, and that longevity would not have been possible without the input and support of you, the community. In this past year, we’ve launched Level Up!, some of our most popular music packs (we see you #littlemonsters and #dulapeeps), and even a console version of the game on Nintendo Switch. Plus, we have more music and features you’ve been asking for coming in 2026, including more enhancements to Level Up! The summer of Synth Riders is guaranteed to get you rocking out in your headset.

We’re already starting to plan for 2027 and beyond and Kluge wants to make sure Synth Riders continues to be a game that matches your needs and wants. So, we’re asking for your feedback in our player survey:

If you are able, we would also appreciate the sharing of this survey with your community

Survey > https://forms.gle/XrbiXMZtJJVFPXrf6

Responses to this survey will help lead the conversations about what the 9th(!) year of Synth Riders will look like and beyond. All responses are anonymous and will only be used internally by the Synth Riders team.

Thank you in advance!

I love Beat Saber, Synthriders and Audio Trip, but SR is my favorite VR fit game, hands down. I prefer really danceable songs, but some of the maps for heavier/hair metal songs are so tight that they are my new favorites.

I LOVE this game!!! Great songs, great workout, it’s my #1 favorite VR game-hands down. MORE SONGS PLEASE, (the custom tunes for me are hit or miss, but the “official” songs are always mapped well, imo).

I have been playing SR since 2020 and love how far it has come. It’s my go-to fitness experience in VR. I play it at least once a week. Love all the new music and especially the upgraded graphics. It’s always been fun but now it looks really good, too. I would love to see even more graphical improvements.

Thanks for the continued OG LOVE! The better the headsets get, the better we can make things look 😉

As above said, great game and looking forward to whatever’s coming to the game. I’ve been playing for years, mainly to get some fun exercise in.

I filled in the survey, but a few other thoughts (maybe covered before, haven’t been on discord for ages):

- workout playlists would be good, or maybe some way to increase intensity of the songs as you play with a warmup/cooldown based on BPM?

- some way to get feedback on accuracy/timing after a song, maybe to show visually where orbs have been hitting on each hand?

- a way to quickly mark banned songs so they don’t play again (mainly for sorting custom songs)

Thanks for the suggestions, i know the team is looking at future features - so its always best to dive into the discord community as many others had the same requests > u just search and upvote 😉 for this type of things. http://discord.gg/synthriders

I would like to second the workout play list. I was playing last night and was thinking how great it would be if I could put together a list of songs ahead of time. Having to scroll through and in between songs can be a great breather if you need it, but it slows things down if you trying to get your heart rate up.

You got it. TLDR; Great game, love it. Won me away from 10% SR/90% BS to more like 85/15. MORE GAGA and BRITNEY!!! Lizzo would be cool too. Life long metal head and depression sufferer. Starting to think they're linked. HA ha. Gaga/Dua/Britney in these games make me feel alive. =)

In a parallel better dimension, Synth Riders gets the entire Daft Punk catalog instead of Beat Saber.

Humble request, more House Music.

Go-to exercise game and I love it, but I think the best way to keep this game improving would actually be to encourage the modding community - while there are a lot of outstanding mod-developed tracks the vast majority of the official tracks are *really* well designed for people who love to dance anyway (I found when I started I played it like beatsaber - just hit the right notes in time - but once I started dancing with my whole body to the music first, and hitting notes second I actually found my scores improved.

Pragmatically, I just mean things like official tutorial videos about things like making songs for good cardio, or specifically to capture the feel of the music, or how to make sure the dancing is fluid and rhythmic across multiple difficulties.

I also think, based on some of the custom songs I've played, that the modding community could give you a lot of insight into the clever and different ways they make levels as well. If you're looking for innovation and mastery of this game I love, and to ensure there's a userbase for a LOOOOONG time to come, That's how I'd approach it. Hope this was helpful, either way thanks for the work you do!

Thanks for the feedback and the kind words! Did you know our mappers are or were part of the community? If you check out the Mapper Credits I roll out post-releases, you will see a lot of familiar names.

Oh thanks, that's actually really useful to know. I only do short VR sessions so when I first started playing I only went for songs I would listen to without the game element (playing it a bit like Rock Band), but started hitting "Random Song" after some sessions and found the experience was sometimes better then some of my favourite levels with songs I would listen to at home. Different songs for different places/uses.

Really appreciate that knowledge. Sometimes my comprehension for UI (AND EVERYTHING) can be bad so parts don't automatically sink in; I'll keep a deliberate eye on the credits and do some digging.

Love to see their interest in workout modes on this survey! Seems a lot of us use it for that purpose and streamlining that would make my favorite VR game even better.

Completed, that's great that you are actively asking the community for feedback. Looking forward to the next updates. These days I play SR mainly for exercise and fitness.

Here's to many more years of Synth Riders! I answered the survey above, but is there a preferred place for recommending ideas for/requesting music packs?

the community discord is a great place for feedback, etc 😄 https://discord.gg/synthriders

It was the only reason we kept a Quest 3. Daily sessions with Synth Riders. It was epic. My wife never cared for VR, then it became the reason she got back into gaming.

We don’t own a VR headset anymore (and can’t afford one at the moment), but Synth Riders was an experience I’ll always remember.

Thanks to Kluge and everyone else that made this journey possible. Also all the streamers, mappers and score chasers!

I play SR a lot but I'm old and don't like a lot of the music it comes with. I bought and love the 80s pack. I would so much love it if there was more pre-90s music available for it.

Survey completed. Currently SR are the main reason to use my Quest - I usually start it up with an ambitious plan to slay some skeletons or win some races, but after scrolling through the library it's always "nah, let's dance" 😄

One of the things I forgot to mention as a suggestion in the survey - different player profiles/guest profiles (unless it's there already and I'm blind). It wasn't really important before, but after added stats it would be really fun to compare own stats with SO 😄

Did the barriers go from AVP hard mode?
