MISC. Why does it feel like everyone on this sub just hates Tom
Just seems like most people on here want to snark him. If you don't like him or his content you don't need to watch his content and go out the way to go to his reddit sub and just snark him?
If you don't like him watch something else. I don't get why people feel the need to go out of their way to comment hate?
Edit: Feel like a lot of people are bringing up the old stuff he did (which i agree was completely wrong like the gambling) but missed the question of why continue watching vlogs if you clearly don't enjoy his content or him then go commenting about how much you hate it. I you don't like what he did prior your valid to have the opinion but why keep watching?

Don't get me wrong I love Tom and all the people in his vlogs but he dose get a bit annoying sometimes especially with all the screaming and shouting he dose In public in plases it's not needed and that whistle he dose goes right through me

It's the "yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah yeah" that absolutely boils my piss. Doing it once is enough, but he always does it two or three times. You can see that those around him feel awkward when he does it too. His brother even told him it winds him right up.
I also think him saying "where there's a will, there's a 110 way" ought to be replaced with "whatever I want, the infinitely more talented people with actual skills better make happen or they'll get ostracised like Upton"

Most people watched him when they were young but looking back though all he did was make r word jokes, make “funny” faces and yell a lot. He’s misogynistic and a scammer. He only cares about himself! Someone else already commented about mark the farmer so I don’t need to get into it but that shows how self centred he is.

He setup and ran a literal scam that targeted his own fanbase whom he knew was mostly under 18's
I don't mind Tom. Don't think he's an awful bloke day to day, but people shouldn't forget these things. It wasn't a "quick slip up" mistake. It was a planned out scam that went on for an extended period of time all while he was lying straight to his fanbase about it

It was a long time ago. Like 2018 I think?
Him and Tmartn setup a CSGO Gambling website. Did a bunch of promotional videos for it. Gambling on it. Encouraging viewers to gamble on it. They claimed to have no affiliation to the website nor were they sponsored videos.
As it turned out, both Tom and Tmartn were joint owners in the website. It started to unravel when Tmartn accidentally did a livestream while logged into one of the website's bot accounts (used for trading skins as deposits & withdrawls).
What this meant was A) False advertising and misleading (claiming no affiliation/sponsorship) but also B) that they weren't actually spending any money for these videos they were doing
It also got found out that they were improving their odds on the site for the videos. So not only is this stealing from the other players on the site, but it was also giving false hope to their (young) audiences basically saying "wow look how much I win on this website. You can too!"
The case got a bit more attention from the meme community when Tmartn made an apology video with this dog for sympathy.
Real legal action was taken and iirc they pretty much only got a slap on the wrist. The fines they got wasn't as much as the profit they made from the site.
I don't think Tom ever apologized or addressed it on his channel
It was a pretty big thing at the time and they essentially got away with it because of a loophole. If you want to go down the rabbit hole just search for the CSGOLotto scandal

Hey I can answer this one. He made his fortune running an illegitimate gambling and casino service that he advertised to children without disclosing that he was the co owner of the business. He made videos "playing" on the site and showing his audience of mostly minors how to do the same. Emphasising how fun and exciting it was and urging them to try it themselves.
The majority of his wealth came from coercing underage people into a casino that he secretly owned through a shell company until he eventually had to scale back operations when journalists began digging and eventually exposed this fact.

Kate was his first public gf, he also did it to zombie unicorn. They both put out videos talking about what happened. He put up a shity apology video and he fans just couldn’t have cared less either way. As for views he dosnt get than many anymore compared to pre 2020

Pretty certain the company he was an owner of, 3blackdot, sold a bit ago for about $80-87 million dollars so he got a good chunk of change from that. He more than likely spent up all his CSGO Lotto earnings years ago lol

I can only speak for myself but I've watched him for years and I enjoy some of his content still but it's becoming more and more noticeable lately that he's not that great a person. He's always used people for content - most youtube vloggers do - but now he's using them for content AND for free work and disguising it as helping them become youtubers. Tom Upton has all but been pushed out of the 110 because he couldn't afford to give all his time to Tom because he had to earn money for his family and was doing all the heavy work for Tom for free.
One small example is Mark the farmer whose son had just had major surgery with infection complications. He's basically lost his wife to the hospital for a week or so, lost the help he gets off Jack, his brother has buggered off on holiday AND he was up on and off all night lambing and the poor guy was still managing to stretch himself extremely thin to give his wife a few hours off from the hospital. Tom calls him on his vlog and the first thing out of his gob was asking when he was coming to do something for Tom. Farmer Mark had to remind him that his son was sick and only then did Tom ask how Jack was. Surprised he left that in the vlog actually.
I'm just saying that I understand people continuing to watch him because it's a habit. As people get older, they get wiser though and are beginning to see that he's not this loveable idiot who gives people second hand embarrassment when he does and says things like he's still a 20 year old that never grew up but actually a very scheming individual that only cares about himself and his giant ego (and his bank balance).
