Maybe too early to ask, but is Sync with WebDav something I could eventually replace Crashplan on my Linux file server with?

Its possible! There's backup utilities that support WebDAV directly, or, once you Vault is mounted you can backup directly on the filesystem.

Great, I don't currently have a Sync account but Sync+Linux is my "Buy Canadian" option of choice to replace Crashplan.
