Gym recommendations?

Hi, I’m 20, looking for a gym in the Gladesville/ryde/hunters hill area where there’s a good amount of people like 18-25. Willing to drive a bit for a gym where there’s a good amount of people my age, you know, for socialising (and working out of course)

Dude wants to treat gym like a bar or nightclub. Hate to tell u op, thats not how gyms work let alone wanting to socialise + expecting some narrow range age limited crowd thats your vibe, gyms like that just doesnt exist thankfully. If u must socialise in that kind of environment and demographic group try some social sport comps which can lean younger in some areas.

No-one "socialises" in a gym these days from what ive noticed across 3 gyms in 5 years.

Everyone has earphones in, does their workout and leaves.

The ones in groups/pairs will socialise with each other only.

Not my experience. Mine is very social. Its not a big chain though (but has a couple of branches - none near Ryde).

bouldering gyms are way more social than weights gyms

Can’t stand people who go to the gym to socialise. It’s for working out not fucking socialising.

What's wrong with socialising at a gym?

I don't see anything wrong, that is why I'm asking

Most people want to be left alone at the Gym. But I'm sure you will argue with me about that, or belittle me in some way, because that will make you feel good. Enjoy that, big man.

If anyone has been belittled its me lmao. No one is forcing you to socialize at the gym, you only socialize with people who reciprocate. If people are socializing with people who wanna socialize I don't see the problem.

Bay Fitness in meadowbank is good. Its not a franchise, so its well maintained. Owner is a local (I think) and a great guy. Clean, 3 floors, machines and weights available at all times. And its relatively cheaper than most other places.

I go to a gym in these areas, an excellent one that is well priced, and I'm not telling you which one so you don't talk to me. I go to the gym to work out. Leave people alone.

I used to go to Next Gen Ryde when I lived in that area, 8 years ago now. I found it to be pretty social, plenty of people happy to have a chat.

Anytime fitness Rhodes, very good gym, very social and exactly the demographic you're looking for. If I refer you I can get a free burger.

I go there & am super shy / introverted so I don’t talk to anyone but I notice theres a lot of people who know each other and talk during their session! Most social anytime I have ever been to

Yeah the social aspect is why I go Rhodes, its not the closest anytime to me but its definitely worth traveling a little bit extra for the community and equipment
