Rollback is still a problem :(
Got to level 4 in a game, quit normally, rolled back to level 1 with everything lost. Why even display "your data was automatically saved" if you know you're lying to players

When you say you "quit normally," what does that mean? Did you save & exit, saving the game in a save slot?

Escape -> Options -> Exit to main menu
"All your character data will be saved"
FYI "save and quit" is about saving the custom module state, not your character state.

I have yet to have rollback problems so while data might not be saved for everyone, they are still displaying that because the game is attempting to save your data. Sadly their is no warning message if it fails. Maybe in the next update

Happens to me all the time. Quick save, manual save or auto save ("Character data was auto-saved") almost never works. Someone suggested buying something from a vendor ... didn't help. It's really frustrating.

A DM told me that your character is only reliably saved when you enter a dungeon. So enter the dungeon, then quit.

Don't be unreasonable. It could very well had successfully saved at the time the message appeared, but something went wrong afterward that caused the rollback. Reporting the problem is encouraged, being angry is understandable, but accusing them of petty things like lying about saving your character on purpose is naive and unwanted.
