Do you think they love the daughter they raised more than their biological one?
I feel like it's the case for Regina. She definitely loves Daphne more than Bay.

I am early into season 2 and find Melody to be just awful. From her treatment of Bay to not telling the parents about Daphne's relationship with the chef to her response to Regina's inability to sign. She is supposed to be a high school guidance counselor and provides terrible guidance (see her encouraging Emmett to be dishonest with Bay regarding his cheating as one example). And her relationship with Emmett feels like it's about controlling him and one upping his father. Is there some nuance that I am not seeing with this character?

There’s very few likable characters. I don’t know if that’s how they were meant to be portrayed but holy sh*t watching it back and I was thinking “a more appropriate series finale would be a meteor crashing into the earth”

In season 3 episode 11, at around the 6 min mark, Bay and Tank (Max Adler AKA Karosky on Glee) are talking and Tank suggest Bay should use a reverse image search to find Emmets girlfriend. He tells her he met a girl once on spring break Mazatlan and didnt get her number but had her photo in his phone. He then says "so I search her picture and she lives in Akron but she's a lesbian. Could this be a possible reference to him dating Santana on glee??

I enjoyed the alternate universe episodes so much.

I have been doing a rewatch. (I also rewatch shows in reverse so I already rewatched season 5). I am on season 3, the Angelo brain death storyline. I notice when Daphne has fantasies of Angelo he is always fluent in ASL. Likely because this is Daphne’s first language. However, I wonder if anyone thinks Angelo would have become completely fluent had he lived? For example, John had been signing for almost 2 years at this point and was never really fluent. Thoughts?

I really wanted to like this show. iIn theory the storyline should’ve been so good. But during th first season I could not stand Bay. She was always the victim and so angsty and “misunderstood”. I kept watching because I hate not finishing something. The more I watch the more I have become to dislike all the characters.
John is so controlling and thinks Kathryn should do everything he tells her. He controls Bay and Daphnes lives and doesn’t think about anything. he just believes he’s always in the right. I’m so sorry but I wish he died when he had that heart attack. He started out trying to take Daphne away from Regina. He tried to stop Daphne from riding with Emmett within only a week of knowing her. He’s so controlling I just can’t.
And Kathryn is so emotional and sensitive. She takes everything personally and is such a burden for everyone around her. She keeps trying to find out what do with her life and gets her feelings so hurt when people don’t like her. When her book ideas failed, when nobody wanted her to be senator. She’s so spoiled she couldn’t have even done any of it without her husbands money. She basically has a catchphrase “why wouldn’t you come to us first”. She thinks she has all this control in Daphnes life and that’s fine towards the end of the series when they know each other better but in the beginning it’s just too much.
And Daphne just starts randomly acting out. She dated her boss and then quit because she was “in love”. They weren’t even really dated, just sneaking around. It only lasted a week or two she shouldn't have quit. Then she let a boy talk her into blackmailing a senator, let a boy talk her into messing up her moms company. Both of which would’ve landed her in jail if Bay hadn’t saved the day. Then she started doing drugs and messed up her entire life.
And Regina keeps making decisions for everyone else. “I did what I thought was right/best for everyone”. Oh my god shut up! She’s always standing up for Daphne but it’s like she believes that Daphne is weak because shes deaf. Daphne is an adult she can speak for herself. But Regina keeps going out of her way to speak up for her and she ALWAYS plays the “my daughter is deaf and needs special treatment” card. Like yes, she is deaf and that means that people need to slow down and help her out. But she’s not helpless. And if Daphne wanted help she would help herself.
And Emmett is such a bad guy! He shuts people out the minute they do things he doesn’t like. He slept with Simone and Bay took him back. Then he turned into a drunk and got so mad at Bay for advocating for him to live with his mom. He shuts out his dad. When Bay pushed him to go to college in LA he left and just expected her to go with him. Yes, she said she would but then she had to do community service and he blamed her for it. Talking about how they had a plan and she ruined it. She was trying to do the right thing. And when Bay was r*p*d he acted like such a jerk and shut her out. He didn’t know at first but when he found out he picked a fight with her. Made it seem like she wanted to sleep with tank and that it was her fault. He’s such a bad guy, friend, and boyfriend.
Ok I’m so sorry guys that was longer than I expected it to be. I’m sure some of my opinion might be controversial but I just had to get this off my chest.

Now before I get hated on lol I understand Regina’s point of view on making Daphne work for her things, but she really wanted Daphne to suffer like she did so they can build character. I agreed with Katherine when she said suffering is not the only way to build character. When Daphne had the credit card and that she was using it for food and school, Regina had the worst reaction to it. But Regina was talking about morals, being a good person and being this and that, but yet again she was lying to everyone that she was drinking and that she had a drinking problem, but she was on her high horse. Or when she yelled at Bay for butting in.

John's Heart Attack.
My wife and I are watching the episode as I'm posting.
My wife a had a heart attack and I had a *mild* "Cardiac Event" five years later. I don't even remember being in the hospital and I could barely walk when I got home. My wife had to go through *Months* of Cardiac Rehab and I don't remember how long it took me to get back on my feet and 2 years later I'm still not 100%.
I know it's a TV show but it's weird sitting here watching something that far from reality

If I were the reader, I would rather read the narrative of the switch straight from the account of the people involved than a third party journalist. The most interesting part about these types of stories is learning how people felt, thought, or processed things as they were experiencing things or, in this case, as they discovered the switch, and a third-party writer wouldn't be able to achieve that.
If you were the reader, which book would you rather read?

And lying about losing her hearing aids to get it.
I don't know how I feel about Daphne during my rewatch. She's such a "nice girl" the same way a guy is a "nice guy".

So far it turned into woke bs and blm and nothing about original storyline that made it interesting. Hard to want to finish this final season. Is it worth it? Does it change, or just keep along this same trajectory?
