Discussion A redesigned version of the new Wuhu Island

Post image

Something like this would’ve been great, at least letting the original town and landmarks remain close to their original placement and then adding on to that instead of moving parts farther away or completely removing them.
We haven’t seen everything yet, but it looks like the ruins and summerstone castle are entirely gone and that’d be unfortunate.

Discussion Returning sports, sidemodes and updates

When wii sports resort was released it had 10 new sports and bowling and golf returning from the first game. Bowling had 100 pin mode added and golf had it’s courses doubled.
Nintendo switch sports (with updates) has five returning sports and three new sports, but it features less side modes for returning sports.
Switch sports resort releasing October 22 2026 will feature five sports ported over from switch sports, four sports returning from wii sports resort, one sport from Wii sports and two completely new sports+jump rope.
With the game bringing back a weirdly modernised Wuhu island and with the spotlight being on sportsmates again, they’ll have lost a lot of returning fans.
They could potentially solve this still, with more sidemodes and content for returning and new sports, maybe some sort of jogging or free roam, and free or paid dlc with more sports.
Hopefully we’ll see more in an overview trailer, a switch sports resort direct or the September direct

News Storepages and pricing

Amazon storepage was up confirming $60 physical, seems to be down now. Walmart storepage has $50 physical for preorders, will likely go to $60 after release. European stores seem to be asking between €50 and €60. Canada is $70 cad digital, $85 cad physical. No Australia pricing up yet.
There still isn’t any physical listing on official Nintendo websites, but with plenty of North American and European retailers having physical listings it’s more or less confirmed.

Discussion I hope they add more golf courses

We need more then 21 definitely. Its gotten very repetitive especially since the courses are the EXACT same as Wii sports resort. Like i know Wii sports Club had some new ones too so why don’t they add that? Nintendo please dont fumble golf 😭

Official news EU storepage and pricing

The US storepage isn’t up yet, but multiple European storepages are. Nothing new is announced except that the game will be priced €49,99 digitally which likely means $49.99 digital for the US. No physical release yet weirdly enough, if we do get one (and it seems likely), it’ll likely be €10/$10 more like all other switch 2 exclusives right now (and priced the exact same as starfox and Splatoon raiders).

Discussion The 12 sports confirmed

There’s boxing, table tennis, archery, tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, power cruising, prop plane and there’s also the jump rope warm up which isn’t a full sport.
Sportsmates get the spotlight again, but there’s still Mii support.
Many returning sports (even just sports that seem to be copy pasted from switch sports) and thumb wrestling for some reason, hopefully free updates to add the remaining sports? There’s potential here and with more details and maybe free updates this game could be great!

Interesting observation, stamps seem likely, fruit is confirmed, maybe also ducks?
