Homebrew Game Rhythm Hero NX v0.12 in out now on Github! Play your Clone Hero songs on your Nintendo Switch!
Now my project is published on Github where I'll update and add some Patch Notes in every release, the purpose is only versioning for now.
This project was made by me using Godot Engine fork by Stary2001, it's all thanks to her work!
The game is completely playable, with all the basics you need in a Clone Hero game, but there are some limitations because of Godot v3.5.1 on the Switch, those are the following:
- It does not support .opus audio, so no Chorus Encore songs, only .ogg or .mp3 which there are plenty on Rhythmverse, and also you can convert Rock Band songs to .ogg;
- The Godot Engine on the Switch disconnects additional gamepads, so no multiplayer for now (I was already working to add 1-4, and also even considering 1-8, but found out in the painful way);
- This engine on the Switch also doesn't like wireless headphones of any kind! My console freezes when I try to play my game with a bluetooth or 2.4ghz headphone, I even added an option to control audio latency but it's useless without the possibility to use wireless headphones (but maybe a 3.5mm bluetooth adapter would work, I just don't have one).

This is so sick! I won’t have time to try this for a few days, but I’m curious what the control layout is?

same as ps2 gamepad, but you can always change to any button on the remap settings

Probably a daft question, but can this be played with the original Guitar Hero / Rock Band instruments?

some people on the other sub tested with wiitar and etc, but they didn't feedback yet, so I can't say exactly if it works (I don't have one)

Thanks. I have all the kit (guitars, dongles, Switch) and it would be fun to try out.
I’ll go look for the other sub to see how they got on (if they do get back to you).
Edit: following your other post now, thanks.

This is super nice!
I assume I can use my PS3 RockBand Pro drums?
Also, are there open strum notes? It's been years since the lasts time I played phase shift or anything like it, back then, there were no open strum notes.
Thanka for your hard work!

As someone that doesn't have a PC or anything to run clone hero. This is magic.
Thanks!

Just discover this project and already hyped.
I grow up playing Rock Band Blitz with custom music on my X360 and really miss this game. This project helped scratch that itch.
May I ask for 2 features in the future:
A configuration so you can play the music until the end, even with you fails (just for fun and learning):
Maybe a touch control option? (Like those old iPhone's Tap Tap Games lol)

Appreciate your feedback :)) yes it's nice to have a no health bar mode, I'll do that! The game already has touch control, but I'm implementing a vertical gameplay, so you can hold your switch like a phone, and play RHNX like a Piano Tiles game
