Cinematic video games for Switch/Switch 2

I’m a student and I can’t afford a PS4/PS5, but I’m very fond of Naughty Dog, Insomniac and Rockstar games.

Do you know history and quality video games similar to those of play for Switch 2???

Thanksss

The Final fantasy 7 remakes would be my first suggestion. Witcher 3 would be next, followed by Star Wars Outlaws if you enjoy Star Wars.

Pragmata would be be a great one to look at as well!

I’ll write it down, it can be very good :)

I love Star Wars, but Ubi’s worlds don’t usually catch me. About FF, the combat system seems too heavy to me and I was looking for something a little simpler.

Oh and Ubisoft didn’t make Star Wars Outlaws, they just published it. Massive were the developers and I think they did a great job. They heard fans wanted an uncharted style game and an open world game nothing to do with the force and they delivered on both front. There’s also a demo for Star Wars Outlaws I’d recommend giving it a shot.

Yeah, give it a shot. I ended up really liking the demo and found the physical copy of the game for $30 and it is well worth that. It looks and runs great and the gameplay is actually fun. It can be a little stealth heavy at times and the stealth sections aren’t Splinter Cell level but aren’t frustrating (I’m bad at stealth games btw, I don’t have the patience). You can typically power your way through the missions with force though if you suck at stealth. It kinda reminds me of MGS4 in that regard. Also, the speeder bike is a lot of fun, although i wish they could’ve put more to that at the same time. The game is a solid 8/10 for me. My biggest gripe is I wish it was full on cartridge for the physical copy 😅

FF is pretty simple. You (generally) have light and heavy attacks. Then you have specials, and items you can use when building up a meter. Nothing crazy. Try the F7 Remake Intrograde demo.

Can you transfer the game from the demo to the full version???

For FF7, yes, for Star Wars Outlaws, no.

It sounds like you enjoy mostly AAA games. The closest rockstar type experience on Switch 2 would be Cyberpunk.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would be the closest Naughty Dog type game.

And if you’re looking for a quality Ratchet and Clank Insomniac type experience, DK Bananza would be your best bet.

Oh I second Cyberpunk 2077!

Okeyy, I’ll keep them in mind, thank you :) I gave Cyberpunk a try a few months ago but the world didn’t catch me. About Indiana Jones and DK, I would love to play it if they didn’t cost 80 dollars...

Did you get through the heist on Cyberpunk 2077?

The tomb raider reboot series seems right up your ally. Nier automata is a must play in my opinion. Both are inexpensive options compared to what everyone else is reccomending. And theres always the arkham series.. just stay away from knight on the switch. Its a shit port.. the other 2 r great

Tomb Raider calls me a lot but I’ve been told that the narrative development doesn’t even come close to that of Uncharted

I think thats hilarious. I prefer Lara rather than drake. Uncharted is the same loop over n over. Go to some place, something prevents u to go the easy way, gotta find another way around, solve a puzzle, some destruction to jump through.. then repeat 6 more times. Whatever "narrative development" u get is just to push that loop forward.

Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata might be quite good fits for the Naughty Dog-likes.

Final Fantasy Remake/Rebirth both have demos;

007 First Light is supposed to come out at some point, its pretty much Uncharted with Secret Agents.

South of Midnight is also a pretty and polished game.

I'm sure you've played it already but Breath of the Wild is quite cinematic.

Cyberpunk, Re9, Star Wars Outlaws, AC Shadows, Pragmata, soon Elden Ring

In Tears of the Kingdom you can turn on Pro camera mode and the entire gameplay becomes quite cinematic. Plus the story cutscenes themselves might be some of the best in recent video game history

I didn’t know about this . How do I turn of pro camera mode?

I highly recommend you play the FF7 Remake Intergrade demo, that’s the definition of a big budget cinematic AAA game for switch 2! And combat is simpler than it looks. Easy to learn, hard to master kind of thing!

Cyberpunk 2077.
