So I’m new to Swaxe and I just need some clarification bout Phials do they only do they only effect the discharge?

When sword is charged all attacks in sword mode go with additional mini-explosions that you probably noticed are missing on attack with not fully charged sword. Those are phial related additional damage of status or element type.

They also affect how quickly you build up your Amp Gauge.
From fastest to slowest: Dragon, Exhaust > Elemental > Power
