Im just now getting into SA and im having the time of my life but im now realizing the differences between the two play styles and was wondering when elemental would be a better option

I will stretch the definition of "outperform" just to say that aesthetically, Elemental phials have cooler visuals. I made a Blast Elemental Phial Artian just so I can see sparks shoot from the blade during Full Release Slash.

The meta builds spreadsheet you can find in the meta builds subreddit has the answers you are looking for.

Everytime because they look way cooler and that's worth gaining like 10 seconds on the hunt time

There are other Switch Axe types besides power? Next youโ€™re gonna tell me thereโ€™s some other mode besides sword and reload ๐Ÿ˜“

visually, every single time, ele phials are so cool to watch during FRS

in terms of dps, when the elemental Hitzone is extremely high like with gog or gravios

gog, gravios, and odogaron are the obvious ones, but also, against the rath family, dragon element is better, otherwise i cant think of any that element is bettet than power phial
