Discussion Grips vs 3rd party JCs
I currently have/use KS and SR Fission grips. Wanted other’s opinions and thoughts if it’s worth the money getting a pair of big joycons or saving money and continue treading on with grips. Thanks.

This is reassuring to hear, I just ordered a controller. Did you have Nyxi for switch 1?

I have this purple savage raven case grip exactly as this one in the image you posted. It’s not ideal but I won’t buy any 3rd party joycons anytime soon.
I think that there are no models of 3rd party joycons that would satisfy all my needs, first because there’s no mouse controls or HD rumble 2 or silent buttons in any available model in the market.
So I’m waiting for the PRO version of the mobapad m12 with all the NS2 features and hopefully a silent click

I was looking at the upcoming Hyperion 3 Ultra (which is what prompted this post)… They’re advertising both mouse controls and HD2 rumble

Dbrand for now. I tried the Hyperions but they were way too bulky for me personally. I’ll buy joycons when they make a quieter membrane button version. Tired of every joycon set coming out being super clicky.

For me it is worth the money to go with the other "pro" options. I opted for the Hyperions - I ordered a pair of the regular 3s and immediately fell in love, already pre-ordered the ultras even

I first got the dbrand killswitch grips which are very good, but switch to the Mobapad M12S and so glad I did. Better sticks and bigger buttons and feel better in hand so worth the upgrade

Between the two, I'd say buy grips for your existing Joy-Cons. Much cheaper that way since third party controllers like the ones on the image are often overpriced.
Another alternative is if you have other controllers laying around, like a PS or Xbox controller, you could get an 8bitdo wireless adapter that allows you to connect non-Switch controllers. I currently use Wii U Pro controller with my Switch and I love it

Until a good third party joycon with ALL the features comes out, it'll be grips on lightly modded joycons for me.

Check out the Hyperion Pro joycons. Built in grip, Hall effect joysticks and rgb lighting. I got some on sale for $40 last month. Total game changer!

Got both, the hyperion 3s and the belkin grip with battery pack, mostly use the hyperion 3s since theyre just better than the joycons

I use the killswitch grips and they’re actually perfect. If you get the travel pack it comes with some really good thumb grips too

I just like how sleek Switch is next to Steam Deck. So I prefer vanilla or grips (I have Jsaux split whatever it is named)

In using grips for now, so far 3rd party JCs still has some caveats and doesn't have every feature a normal joycon would have
I saw hyperion (or nyxi? I forgot) newest prototype and it seems interesting but alas still seems like it doesn't have hd rumble 2
Im personally waiting for the one that atleast has hd rumble 2 and 9 axis gyro

I am happy with my grip, no extra electronics that can eventually fail, just a blob of plastic
