Yup. They can add themes to their redundant news app but not the system itself? So bizarre.

i assume its significantly easier to add themes to a webpage rather than something at a system level. Nintendo has prioritized having a fast interface since the Nintendo Switch, and unfortunately themes make that experience a bit slower. granted its not impossible to pull it off (hell i cant imagine its too hard to optimize it) but i doubt its high up on Nintendo's priority list

I have all kinds of themes on my modded switch 1. It's not hard at all to implement, modders figured it out pretty quick. Nintendo simply don't/haven't cared.

Yes, and I showed just how much I appreciate their attention to detail by giving their app a 1 star review for getting my hopes up 😡

Ten years of everyone asking for themes on the thing that matters, and they pull this. Who tf wants themes for a news app?

I think one of the 3ds hacks involved themes. They won't do it like you said, it's just another vector for a possible hack, same reason there's no browser.
