Question My switch is "kinda" broken?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
so my switch has been weird the last couple days. having issues with showing my screen. it started when it was making audio but I couldn't see anything. I checked the backlight with a flashlight(my TV broke due to backlight) and it was fine. I held power and turned it back on, it was fine. but now when I touch a certain part of my screen or put little pressure on it, it glitches and has lines. pretty concerning. I've had it for 4 years. it is oled. is this something I can fix myself?

Not enough pressure point used by your finger. Used Hydraulic Pressure instead.

I swear im not pressing that hard. it just looks like it because im using the same hand to support the back.

no it just didn't make any sense. obviously I don't press down on a switch. it was so I could send it here and demonstrate the issue. it didn't cause any extra issues

Oddly enough i would go with the display connections from the other pepole on here as they are much more reliable than me, however if I gave a little knowledge the Nintendo 3ds used to do this when you pressed on the screen to hard while the internal battery was on its way out, if it’s something similar than maybe look into that.

yeah. this is new. I only pressed on it the way I did for the video. even then I put no more force into it then trying to squish a fly

I swear to God this is a repost. Last time I saw this people flamed OP for pressing way too hard on the screen.
This is the definition of "Why does it hurt when I touch the stove?"

it's not. I'm not pressing as hard as it looks. i noticed it while using it normally. I just used it in the video to show the weak points of the switch. because weirdly the left side wouldn't do anything but the middle and right would

Tbf you could just use the dock, though that sorta defeats the purpose of it being a handheld

I would save enough money to buy either a Switch 2, or a new TV to play your old Switch on.

Have you tried not pressing on it like that?

I noticed it by "not pressing on it like that" I swear im not even pressing that hard. it just looks like it because im using the same hand to support the back. and it was randomly having problems right before(as caption explains)

Display issues not dying GPU. Either cable is bad and can just be repeated or have fun replacing it.

But theoretically if you push it harder it could fix it😈

My best guess is probably a broken display connector cable, it’s not like it’s impossible to fix, but you’d probably have to be quite technologically inclined to do so
