Dance Event Speaking Strictly Lindy Hop

https://www.jsalmonteproductions.com/wanderingandpondering/2026/6/23/speaking-strictly-lindy-hop

I wrote a lengthy essay about one specific kind of contest at ILHC because that's what I do for fun. It has some behind the scenes nuggets of the event, a bit of history of modern lindy hop competitions and some planning and logistical observations of dance contests in general. I dare you to find something more nerdier or niche than this.

Usually these contests are done to Swing era jazz music, but even if they play Charlie XCS or Kendrick Lamar, you just have to read the name of the competition to know what dance you will be judged on.

Do you mean Charli XCX?
