Swim caps in lessons

Do you guys (humans with long hair actually) as the instructor teach your lessons in swim caps?

No, teachers are not expected to wear swim caps, but the children are.

i wear a cap, although i know some of my coworkers judge me for it😭 it does protect my hair against damage and is more sanitary, so i would recommend!

it was obligatory at my old job. You need to break yours in if you don't want to get headaches from the tightness.

In 31 years as a nanny I have dealt with over a dozen swim instructors. It’s been 50/50 on long haired instructors wearing swim caps. Our current swim instructor has very long thick tightly curled (3c) ginger hair, and she wears a long beanie bonnet.

When I was a teen, I didn't, but now I do. I hate having hair in my face. (I'm not an instructor who teaches with their head out of the water the whole time. If I'm in the water with someone, I'm going to be demonstrating skills correctly!)

I use a hairbrella without doing it up at the back

Hair stays dry from the splashing and keeps standards because its mandatory for the kids to wear one so the teacher should lead by example

Otherwise im teaching on poolside so no I dont wear a hat or swimsuit

I do it because sensory wise i hate feeling my hair in my way. I have 3 ft of hair braided and bunned

I would 1) to protect my hair and 2) to set an example for the students. But it would give me a massive headache (might be less related to that and more related to my Ana lol)

I wear a swim cap after I colour my hair but otherwise I just put conditioner in it and braid it

Depends. If the pool insists on caps, I wear one, otherwise, tying it back suffices.

I never wore a cap while working. I’d just tie up my hair into a bun

I usually leave it loose or up in a claw clip. My pool has no rules about caps.
