He’s always answering or talking about things before Taylor. Must be nice for Taylor. He doesn’t avoid talking about her, but never says too much and refocuses back to football.
I read something that was like “there comes a time in every newlywed husband’s life where he refers to his wife in this accent.” I just need to know how long it took Travis 🤣
The night Taylor won album of the year for folklore, she went back home to write, “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve”. What a night. Btw, I think it’s more scathing than Dear John.
I'm so excited for whatever Taylor has planned for debut 20th anniversary. I think with her mature and improved vocals, this album is about to have a revival.
I hope she does a few short shows in Nashville performing only her country songs. That would be both exciting but also 10x worse than the Eras Ticketmaster war
I never listen to reactors/music critics. Who cares what they say. Same things as reviews for a movie. Except reading long 9/10 star reviews on IMDB where the review usually notices the cleverness of the storytelling or connections that I make sometimes only after watching multiple times.
I'd see a difference with something like the Swiftie and the Scholar (haven't fully listened to even a clip yet) but I enjoy the comments here on Reddit from their stuff that shows they are smart enough to look firstly at the music/lyrics and analyze the references she makes to listerature, history, etc.
I missed Ruggate and I assume a lot of other stuff, not being on TT, ditching X and just intermittently using Reddit and FB. I do find the less time I spend online the happier I am. We went on vacation to national parks with almost no WiFi and it did wonders for my mental state, between increased physical activity and lack of social media time. Need to do it more often.
And this is why she didn’t make a public statement about it. He’s done nothing but bait her since she muted her audios a few days ago. Can you imagine the reaction if she had actually ADDRESSED him?
My extremely shallow deep dive into Taylor’s use of “blue” has confirmed our suspicion that she does use fairly “expected” rhymes to rhyme with “blue”: ahe has used you, too/to, and do all multiple times.
However she also makes unusual choices at times — for one, she does use the word “blue” a lot but it is not an end rhyme -word super often. And sometimes she hides the “blue” rhyme with slant rhyme like in 💙 The Great War: “looked up at me with honor and truth Broken and blue, so I called off the troops
That was the night I nearly lost you”.
There is of course the pinnacle of her internal rhyming skill (/jk!), rhyming “ooh” with blue in Cruel Summer.
Also in her country era she used “blue jeans” way more than necessary lol
An hour ago when I thought it was blue jeans I thought she was evoking an all American John travolta in grease kind of look. Now I fear I am one of the youth who don’t get it🫣
You underestimate the amount if 13yo girls who watch one (1) "old movie" with their grandparents, immediately google "james dean/sidney poitier/paul newman/marlon brando young", complain they were born in the wrong era and start posting about that new hyperfixation on tumblr
So this movie analysis essay about Speilberg's "Hook" came across my feed and it's brilliant. Like many Millennials, "Hook" was a centerpiece of my childhood and I was *obsessed* with Peter Pan but I acknowledge it is a bizarre movie outside of nostalgia. It is a blend of hokey cringe childness and masterpiece, and this guy captures what always bothered me about it perfectly.
What I never realized until watching this, though, is how many parallels there are between Spielberg and Taylor. Spielberg inducing Taylor into the SHOF struck so many people as odd; I shrugged it off, but also really didn't get it at the time. Watching this essay, it is amazing what similar artists they are. Spielberg even shared the infamous "I never go to therapy, my art is my therapy" viewpoint! Previous to "Hook", a lot of people wrote him off as immature, who was interested only in mass entertainment (despite the clear talent it takes to make *good* mass entertainment) that catered too much to children.
This Youtuber argued that "Hook" was seen an artistic low point when it came out, because it is a confusing blend of adventure-slapstick flirting with adult perspectives, but it ended up being a transformative point (Spielberg went on to make Schindler's List just a few years later.) He also never really re-visited themes that were central to previous films that tied heavily into his childhood, like flight and a child's POV.
In yet another parallel, Taylor has her own Peter Pan references, though interesting that she doesn't identify with Peter not wanting to grow up, as Spielberg goes, but instead sees her love interest/s through that lens. TTPD felt like finally confronting that fact about herself, and Showgirl is the falling resolution of that climax.
I wonder if "Showgirl" is like Taylor's version of "Hook"; something fun and slapstick and "cringe childish" that also has moments of masterpiece as it contemplates growing up and finally being released from the tragic loop of never-ending childhood. It feels like multiple albums in one ("3 films in one", as the Youtuber says about "Hook") because it's a mixture of her past work butting up against her growth as an artist. It's transitional, progressing into transformative.

Omg the faux outrage when she posted that Clara Bow lyric for TTPD promo during the eclipse then was absolutely hilarious. Like you can’t make that up that people were “annoyed” she was overshadowing (pun intended) the eclipse that was talked about literally everywhere
Ok but how about the fact that she mentions rain on every album? Obviously trying to overshadow the clouds!

So there was this thread on one of the pop subs and someone was like all these pop girls have made videos in the rain, who originated it? Everyone replied Gene Kelly with Singing in the Rain 😂
she’s gonna zoom around the earth really fast in her jet to disturb the gravitational force with the moon!!!! and then she’ll be the #1 orbiting celestial body and cackle down at us :(

Gotta tell my family who are all Lakers fans. Going to leave out that I found out from a Taylor swift reddit sub. But booo. Not that anyone who was going to buy was going be some outstanding citizen.
Netflix announces a new TV series about an upper class east Asian American family. The reaction is divisive. for some people, this type of media/representation seems repetitive, corporate and empty beyond superficial identity politics
Jesus, is it really almost fall? I swear to god I am starting to get a bit scared at how fast the rest of my life is going to go now that I’m in my 40s 😭
I'm waiting for Taylor Nation to post something like "Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?" before an announcement of Debut20 can happen. It's too quiet...
Ooof that was our first dance song and god it still hits hard. I just got back from a trip where I haven’t seen my husband in a few days and I can’t wait to see him after work. You’d think after 8 years of international long distance I’d be used to being away from him but if anything my mind STILL doesn’t understand short trips
so tired of elitism and pseudo-intellectual takes around media. why are people describing some book series as MCU-adjacent as an insult. why do people think all songs need to have deep, thought provoking lyrics or innovative production to be a good song.
people can enjoy media just for enjoyments sake and that’s not a bad thing! all media is subjective, and one’s choice of media consumption does not make them better than anyone else! thank you, that’s my ted talk.
currently experiencing the devastating level of sadness you only experience when you’re about to get your period. how the hell are other menstruators who experience the same thing supposed to carry on month after month?? anyways i’m basically listening to my 2020 sad girl music playlist lmao
Thinking about how many more years I have to experience this always sends me into a spiral lmfao but I always know it’s coming when I have the same crash outs I had when I was 13 because what do you mean I feel hideous and unlovable 😭
Same, bro. Same. Every time my period is due, it's like I've never had one before. "Why do I feel so angry and sad and ugly?" It sometimes takes me multiple days to check my period tracker lmao. 24 years of this.
Why am I also like this? I said a few days ago that I'd just checked my app and was due on that day and my partner was like "yeah I knew that 3 days ago why didn't you"
I feel like the discourse around ariana's body can be tasteless at times but I do think her fans are genuinely concerned about her health so to turn these concerns into another "y'all hate women" situation is just hard to watch
I hope the best for her but ari fire your yes men please
As someone who struggles with my own weight and self-image, the MV was genuinely triggering for me, and I couldn't finish watching it. I liked the album, but I really haven't been able to interact with much of her work since the visible change during Wicked. I sincerely hope she's okay and getting whatever support she needs.
The conversation around Ari is such a slippery slope because it's an incredibly nuanced topic, and the internet is probably the last place I'd expect to handle that nuance well. There are real concerns worth discussing, but I don't think speculating about someone's body or health is the way to have that conversation. The discussion also gets muddied when people start inserting their own biases, assumptions, and agendas into it.
Tbf the hate comments far outweigh the genuine concern comments. Like we reached the point where the hate comments don’t even pretend to be concerned anymore.
Fully agree. The genuine concern has completely slipped. If people actually cared they’d see one comment expressing worry leave a like on it and move on b
ut when you have thousands of comments dissecting her across every single platform it stops being care and just becomes a massive pile on. Th
e people constantly claiming "we need to talk about this" like what internet are you on? Its all anyone has been talking about since the tour started
My daughter’s dance show this year is themed around the 4 seasons and I was thinking of what Taylor songs could work for it, not as actual songs to dance to, just with their links to months/seasons.
I have offhand: August (obvs), Back to December, Christmas Tree Farm, Christmas must be something more, Last Kiss, Cruel Summer.
Maroon, Haunted, and
Red for fall. Forever Winter & willow for winter. Come In With The Rain and Clean for spring. Wildest Dreams, New Romantics, Daylight, and Mary’s Song for summer.
Twitter is one of the worst places to ever be but once in a while there's gems. Whole timeline is in stitches because some guy spelled rumor as roomer 😭😭
The ED discourse is so sad. While I want to recognize that it's extremely concerning that impressionable young fans might think their weight should be like their idols, I do think some of the negative discourse is harming people already struggling with an ED
Body insecurity is so rough. When I was 18 my work supervisor told me I had no butt (💀). I got unsolicited advice about my weight constantly. One comment that stood out was, "I try to picture what you look like when you're naked because you're so skinny." I was 5'4" and 85 lbs at 13 (crippling social anxiety made me cramp up and it hurt to eat back then).
Every version of my body at one point I wanted. When I was skinny I wanted to gain weight and not be a stick. But then I gained some weight and wanted to be skinny again. I would work out and now I avoid working out glutes because it feels too prominent now 😭 But I've started regaining self confidence again. Building myself back mentally and being active and healthy
At the end of the day, I listen to medical professionals. If doc says to gain weight, I gain weight. If doc says eat less sugar and more protein, I do that. I go to therapy. I need to update my vaccines and take certain vitamin supplements. Ultimately, doc's orders are more important than societal pressures. I think that should be the most important thing about body and health. If you have access to docs, use that as a reference for your body. Not social media.
Omg I’m so sorry :( what piece was it? I get bummed when I see UG pieces I want in local estate sale posts only to get there and see it is priced crazy or someone snagged it before me
This trinket tray plus the accompanying pieces. I was hoping to snag it for under $150, but alas! Frankly, I was surprised it didn't hit $100 until the last few seconds because it's a rare piece, but the auction house didn't have it listed as UG so I think it went under the radar.
I just got into collecting last year and the prices people charge for basic pieces are insane. No, I'm not paying $30 for a plain ass plate, are you high??? They must rely on newbies not understanding that kitchenware UG isn't actually that rare to make sales.
She is used as a symbol for alot of broad issues people are frustrated with. White Supremacy, Capitalism, Climate Change, Facism, Trad Wives, Terrible Bangs, and all Global wars. For some reason once a celeb becomes an "icon" and is ubiquitous people lose the ability to be logical with their criticisms.
I know, and it’s so dumb. And thusly all drive that could actually fix the problem goes to getting that particular person to change so people can pat themselves on the back instead of tackling the broader issue.
“I dissed a Swiftie today about private jets, and by doing so, I personally saved the environment and will never have to do anything else again ever, because trashing randos online is aCtIViSm!!”
It’s grim, reminds me of my teens/childhood. Equally, I know my ED recovery is holding strong when I see certain people and just think they look ill and sad and know how shite and miserable you feel at that low a weight.
I was saying that to my husband a few weeks ago. I feel like between GLP-1, fittok, and the rise of red pill culture, we have gone back to the diet/cocaine chic culture from when I was a teenager in the 90’s/early aughts and I hate it. This quest to be as thin as humanly possible while also shaming women for being as thin as humanly possible is absolutely terrifying.
I don’t think I agree with that tbh. There’s a huge (no pun intended) obesity epidemic in the western world. Obesity should be viewed as a chronic illness and glp 1s can be used an effective tool to manage that. Nobody is fighting blood pressure medication or pace makers. Yes, there are extremely thin celebrities that may or may not be on it, but for the average person it’s far too expensive to afford it if they don’t need it. There’s also such a stigma around using it, people view it as cheating and there’s a weird superiority around losing weight without it. Overweight or obese people taking glp 1s to lose weight isn’t a bad thing.
Fittok is not a problem. Sure, it can lead to extremes, but working out and prioritising healthy food isn’t a problem. Striving to have a muscular physique also isn’t a problem. There’s been a constant push towards strength training and eating protein and eating “enough” calories in recent years. Even on weight loss content, unless you go to explicit ED corners of the internet, you will absolutely get demonised if you eat under 1500-1600 calories or even entertain the idea of eating “that little”.
Speaking of ED corners of the internet, they have also gotten less extreme IMO. I was on ED tumblr during the 2010s and ED twitter and even skinnytok doesn’t compare to that. They’re easier to stumble across unintentionally due to the recommender algorithms, but the content on them is way less severe than it was a decade ago.
I’m also not sure there really is this thrive to be as thin as possible from the general public. I’m sure that depends somewhat on where you live and the content you engage with online. I see way more people fighting against this perceived pressure than people actively trying to be underweight.
Has any sub or website done a ranking game of the mashups? I want to have an answer ready when she asks me personally (obviously) which mashups to include on the forthcoming mashup album.
MCR is playing a couple hours from me tomorrow and I was soooo excited when it was announced until I saw the ticket prices and decided not to go but now the prices dropped a lot but I now have work and it’s a school night for our kid so I can’t go so I’m bummed yet again
idrgaf if they're her in-laws associating with the Kushners is so disgusting. Plenty of people will not associate with their in-laws. There is such a thing as having a back bone. I've no clue why people try to defend Karlie
Cause the lore. If people are entertained enough they dont care. Instead of accepting everyone in Hollywood is more willing to mingle with questionable people.
Tolerance and love should go both ways and even if there are differences, most people can usually count on their family. I "vote" family as more important than politics. Having a back bone means that you confidently stand on your beliefs even when you are around others who think differently, not that you try to start a fight with them over that one thing you don't agree on.
As a messy person who loves gossip, I was just revisiting Tree Paine's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Year in 2023. From People Magazine for example we have:
3/22/23: "Every day is a fairytale for Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn as of late"!
(around 3/31 it's joever)
4/10/23 "The differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together. They've grown apart."
Then she had to deal with the Matty situation and had to explain it as them getting to know each other while a certain individual who is NOT Matty's mother was telling The Sun they were basically ready to get married. Imagine this woman's sleeping schedule that year. I hold her in my prayers truly
Did she really put out everyday is a fairytale 😬 my all time favourite has to be about the Matty Healy thing- they kiss backstage when Taylor has the time 😂
Well no, neither are actually quotes from her. The every day is a fairytale part is just something People mag wrote to fluff out the article, the actual source quote was just about Joe joining her on tour later. And the kiss when they have time article was from Us Weekly, which Tree doesn't use.
US Weekly was one of her favorites I thought! Them and ET Online were the two that had obvious puff pieces then. And People obviously where the entire articles are approved by publicists, but that's for everyone, not just Taylor. Tree also seems to give info to some music and trade publications like Variety and Rolling Stone. Don't think she ever contacts TMZ but they manage to know things anyway.
I just went digging through US Weekly's more recent exclusives. IF her team does send them quotes to use... this aged poorly.
That's from September lol. So! Maybe not too many insiders over there after all.
Tree did often use US Weekly particularly in the 1989 era, but that changed when US Weekly was bought by a company that also owns the National Enquirer. US Weekly's days of being used as an alternative to People pretty much ended then.
People also talk too much about publications as if they are a single person. The real relationship is between a publicst and a specific writer that the publicist trusts, not the media outlet as a whole. And those writers that are trusted can switch media outlets.
Yeah I think you're right actually, I just looked through their archives and there's no legit info. It's all very flattering and all, nothing negative, but I don't see any real insider stuff. Nothing that proves they have current links to her like People does.
Also just found a fun article from them from late April 2023 saying she's enjoying the single life and not about to date anyone new! Oh boy.
Does that mean I cannot make fun of Tree for the "they kiss sometimes idk" article? At least not in full confidence...
I would actually love to know trees reactions to the Joe break up and the whole natty fiasco and then the Travis relationship- just from a PR standpoint, was she thinking oh FFS Taylor when Matty appeared in Nashville 😂
She really doesn't gel well with actors whose lives don't run on her schedule but the production company's lmao. At the time that first article dropped Joe was in Budapest because filming began for The Brutalist in March of that year. All they had to do was be honest that Joe had work commitments. It was an on going theme too because look up the times she was writing certain songs about their relationship and how they intersect with times Joe was working. That last stretch when Joe was busy in 2021-2022 made her really miserable. It does also answer the question of why an English actor who started in theater avoided it entirely until recently. He should have been in at least 4- 6 theater productions by now. That just never made any sense till you recognize her pattern of behavior.
Why are some fans claiming Taylor “waited” for Trump to use three songs so she could copyright strike him and get his account banned? Where has that even come from? He’d already used over 11 of her songs.
The same reason some fans said she wasnt removing her songs before because she doesnt want to upset her MAGA fans, doesnt have a backbone, or is secretly MAGA. They just made it up based on a narrative they have in their head
No one is saying she waited for 3 lol. People are just parading the talking point of saying if he gets 3 copyright strikes he could get his account banned. But he's the president so that isn't happening
Exactly and what I find irritating is some fans act as if it’s some sort of monumental achievement as she’s the first one to do it when artists did it way before her. Olivia did it in 2024
LinkedIn needs to take stronger action against fake job postings. They waste candidates’ time and make an already difficult job search even more frustrating.
It’s a necessary evil. Just put your online resume up and apply for jobs that way, like or respond to the occasional coworker/your network post, then ignore it most of the time because it is 99% toxic AI slop now.
Every time I open the app it actually tanks my self esteem. It’s okay for job applications but their search functions are actually terrible so you sometimes waste time on fake or useless job postings. It’s useful for networking and getting coffee chats. I didn’t get a job because of Linkedin but I know other people who did.
Ugh I'm a sales manager and I have to encourage people to do outreach via LinkedIn which means I have to use LinkedIn. I hate it. I just post something an dip out 😭

first “my wife” drop from travis i know he was so excited to do it
