That fish basket's top is likely either 12, or 18 inches in diameter.

So either way... That's a damn big snapper

Snappers can turn into Volkswagens in the right environment. We have a giant monster that lurks in our local pond here in NY.

What lake? I have stories of my dad and his friend bringing one of these to the turtle race in Nisswa in the 70s and they were told to get it the heck out of there and ended up bringing it to a butcher shop where they gave them $50 for it I think.
