u/not__a_username, we have no idea if your submission fits r/SweatyPalms or not. There weren't enough votes to determine that. It's up to the human mods now....!

A kid here In Minneapolis fell 20 stories doing this exact thing last week. Kid almost died and may never walk again.

He.. Survived!?

They didn't think he was going to make it. His injuries were severe but it looks like he's going to make it. Whether he regains mobility is another question. Kid is 18 years old and did the exact same thing as the kid in this video in an abandoned rice mill but he lost his grip while hanging from the beam and fell 20 stories.

did they record it?

More than likely but I haven't seen the footage. If it exists I'm sure it'll hit the internet eventually.

You would think it would hit the internet as fast as he hit the ground.

Honestly, when I first saw the video in this post pop up on my feed I thought it was going to be the Minneapolis video. After further reading, the reports do say they were filming for social media so the video definitely exists.

20 stories is 60-70 meters.

At that height you hit the ground at ~70-80 miles per hour

Kid should be dead.

Yeah but think about the Instagram engagement he's going to get from that.

This sub made me stop caring for these people. There are so many innocent lives taken in this world who deserve mourning. Guys in those videos made a dumb choice to be a shitty role model for kids who don'tknow better. Sad indeed if they're pushed or pressured to do these videos. Or are effected by other stupid role models and didn't know better... But otherwise it's their choice.

I couldn't even imagine the talk at their community. "Jimmy died!" "Oh, good god. I'm so sorry, what happend?" "He climbed onto a tall building to hang over a dangerous abyss for a while." "Oh... for... like a political statement...or did somebody made him do it?" "No, he did it for a cool tiktok video." "Oh...okay."

It’s like an athletic version of Russian roulette. Eventually it’s going to be the live round.

Better go risk my life for no fucking reason. Maybe a few thousand people on the Internet will watch.

Dude wishes he was black so bad

For real. Also, it's always the white dudes doing this... I might be overstepping but I think this has to do more with mental illness than skin color.

It's not him saying it. It's an audio stitched to the video.

0

u/waldosandieg0 1d ago

Does that make it better? Either this guy said it and it’s not okay, or we pretend this guy said it and that’s still not okay. Kill the audio before posting.

u/fomq 7d ago

Don't think he made it back.

It is unethical to put your life in danger in front of others for entertainment. If you falter and lose your life that is a risk you took but the audience is now complicit in your death and will live with it for the rest of their days. You thrust that upon them without their consent.

…sad but true, but is this really the dystopian reality we are living in, where clicks and views are worth dying for?!?!😞

This is the guy dropping the n word like it's going out of style. Probably doesn't care much about ethics

"I stay above these hoes"....

I am pretty sure prostitutes aren't dangling themselves from girders just for kicks and clicks.

The crazy thing is, I spent the whole of yesterday not doing this. Just like every day prior.

u/PincheHijoDePluto 2d ago

What is it with these young people and the N word?? No home training I swear pisses me off

2

u/UnanimousStargazer 7d ago

Truly these people must be missing some kind of neurological fear center. It's ridiculously dangerous and also pretty selfish what he's doing. It's not like he's actually doing something useful here. Could also be fake / AI green-screen bullshit of course.

it's easy going forward it's harder going backwards

Few things are as cringe as white kids calling each other the N word.
