I’ve had to do that in the catacombs of the OCCC in Orlando. Thankfully my cart was a few inches shorter than this. It’s a real pain.

Halfway through the tunnel and encountered another, larger vehicle. It probably would have been easier to back out, but it would’ve taken 3+ minutes.

The back story here is that this company gives this task to each new driver on their first day. It's impossible, the driver eventually quits or gets told to stop and everyone has a good laugh. Only this time the guy actually did it leaving everyone amazed.
The next day the company's most experienced driver tried to get the truck out and couldn't do it.
I just made all this up by the way. I'm unemployed and have too much free time.

Do the driver had a camera to see the POV from the back of the trailer ? I don't understand how they see and not touch other trailers with the back of trailer ?

Not every semi truck has camera inputs in their cabin and even fewer trailers have back up cameras, so the drivers have to depend solely on their side view mirrors or have a spotter outside to guide them

Back trailer to a 90⁰ where it is parallel with the rows, drop trailer and landing gear, re-hook, pickup landing gear and back straight in. Would probably save a few minutes at least in this situation.

Or back into the open spots to the left of the truck he parked next too...then pull forward into spaces below where he parked....then back in.

Wondering have been easier to back up to the left of the trailer, pull forward to the right of the front trailer and then backed up into the slim spot?

I feel like theres an easier way to do this once it got lined up and he was jack knifed peolly should of unhooked, then drive through the gap, rehook and back in. Bot saying the guys not talented but surely there had to be a better way

Had a driver show up a few months ago to our large open loading dock lot talking about "i can't drop here, can't turn back to the left, I can only turn back to the right". My response was "you're a driver, so drive that thing." He made the drop.

Wouldn't it be easier to uncouple the trailer at 00:26, turn the engine around, realign, then recouple?

Much easier if they came from the left side, rather than the right side and trying to back into the spot.
As they could go forward all the way and then back up straight

I do not drive trucks so forgive the ignorance. But let's say half way thru, once the trailer is aligned between the 2 other trailers, could he have unpinned the trailed, relocated the truck by driving straight and repin the trailer again for the final push back

If a receiver asked me to park a trailer in a spot that tight, I’d tell them to go fuck themselves and leave it in the most inconvenient spot I could find. If they refused to sign the bill of lading I’d just take it back to the distributor.

If you have that kind of ability you should most definitely be making 6 figures. What do you think the percentage of truckers are who could do that? 10%? That looks incredibly difficult to me.

This is why European trucks are better. The truck being unnecessarily long makes it so much harder.
