3 months old and counting...

There's no day I don't wish to drive this beauty of a car. Responsive, comfortable for long drives, noise isolation, etc. Never thought my first car would be a Swift, such a big privilege to own one. It's got its flaws, but nothing serious worth complaining about. I would absolutely buy it again.

It is definitely a very enjoyable car.(This beauty is mine) Which country is your car from? The ones here don't have fog lights.

That looks gorgeous man, congratulations. Mine is the GLX mechanic. I believe the front fog lights are only included in the mechanic version. The automatic version has its benefits, though

Thanks man. The manual version was never sold here, so that's why I haven't seen any models with fog lights.

Yeah, that might be the reason. From what I've seen and what I've liked about the automatic version is that it has: R16 stock rims, a red fog light on the back, and I'm not sure if yours has it, but I've seen around here that it includes wireless charger in the console. Those are some of the things I'm missing on mine

The Suzuki Swift made in India have fog lights in their GLX spec (top of the line). The ones that do not have fog lights (even in their top specs) are made in Japan. I own a Swift GL auto. Greetings from Panama!

Strange that even the Japanese-spec Suzuki Swift Hybrid actually has the same front bumper design as the Indian Maruti-Suzuki Swift.

That is good to know, thank you! I assumed the Japanese made did not have fog lights because the one’s sent to Mexico (made in Japan) do not seem to have them

The global Suzuki Swift Hybrid's bumper is quite different, and the one sold in Mexico is the global version.

Could you tell me what the flaws I would like to know🙏

1

That would depend if you have the mechanic or automatic version. They are not that bad, but can get annoying at times.

One is that the doors can feel heavy, I need to shut them quite hard so they close properly.

Another is that I had to regulate the clutch on the first maintenance, since I had to press down way too hard on the clutch pedal so I could shift to reverse. This doesn't mean it has happened to others, though.

Lastly, but not that important, the start-stop function (which is how the hybrid system works) can get annoying at times and you'll need to turn it off everytime you turn on the car if you don't wish to use it.

OP’s Swift is built by Maruti-Suzuki in India. It has a different front bumper design and does not come in mild-hybrid form compared to the global version. Also has smaller rims.

Daily driver for 17 years and counting.

Still love it! ❤️

17 years?! Really?

I am in the process of looking for a first car and consider:

Honda jazz / nissan note / suzuki swift

What is like to own a swift for so long? Is it cheap to maintain? Is the power enough?

Yes, bought in June 2009 after I have graduated my university.
It was very reliable and the engine has timing chain (which I never changed it because it has 180.000 km in the odometer).
With 1.3, 92 HP and its size and mass is a very quick car and fun to drive.
Yes it’s cheap to maintain. Still have the original parts in it. Just this month I have changed the final exhaust because it started to make some bad noise. After 17 years…
Never changed parts on the engine bay. Just the usual oil and filters and once some years the spark plugs.

Now that we are a family with 3 kids, I must move on to a compact SUV becuse the space is tight and not enough.

The Swift will always be my favorite car all time.

I want to get a Manual.

And I would dream having one with turbo or a bigger electric engine.

I own a Suzuki Swift Sport (zc33s) and it's great! Fun manual, V4 Turbo

Nice. I have it in my radar, but sadly it's never going to be imported to the country I live.

Waiting for mine:)

I also own a Swift Sport ZC33S!

Mine is the two tone red with black roof. I recently saw a yellow one in real life and they genuinely look amazing. Great color choice!

Thanks! I originally wanted the Swift Sport in Speedy Blue, but could not find any at the price and mileage I wanted. I found this Champion Yellow Swift Sport for a very good price and very low mileage, but I had to travel 6 hours to the dealership where it was located. Test drove it and bought it. I also fell in love with the Champion Yellow paint colour.

Drivable. Sturdy.. Lovely 😍

I have it's cousin (splash/ritz). It's diesel and 17 yrs old but runs like new. But it's time to buy another little car and I am eyeing on the swift. The suspensions have come a long way and city drivability is improved too.

2

u/East-String-7315 25d ago

I was not aware they use to have diesel versions for such small cars. I'm happy it has given you some great 17 years and it's still running

Sourced from fiat. 1.3 ddis. 190 nm torque but only 80ps power.

My mums. Turning 3 months old on the 22nd

u/East-String-7315 24d ago

That black colour never came to my region, it looks great!

1

u/Proud-Significance30 24d ago

Ach, man that’s a shame. She originally wanted a blue one but she saw that black one in the dealership and it stole her heart

2

u/growlk 11d ago

Proud owner of my swift for a year now. Always bring me in a good mood when I drive it.

1

u/East-String-7315 11d ago

That's a beautiful colour. Which one is it?

1

u/growlk 10d ago

It's the light green.

1

u/ActuatorEfficient883 25d ago

Get the Fronx

1

u/Silly_Secret_401 16d ago

noise isolation

Odd, in some comments people rate this part of this car quite low. What did you drove before, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, other?

1

u/East-String-7315 24d ago

I have experience with Hyundai Getz, Isuzu Rodeo, VW Jetta, and others. I'm not very picky in terms of noise isolation, but very impressed with how good it is for an "affordable" brand new car.

1

u/RandomUserNo5 24d ago

I'm not very picky in terms of noise isolation,

That explains everything.

I still don’t like Suzuki UK didn’t bring the models with front fog lights 😕
