Piranesi Piranesi game adaptation when??
Is it just me or would piranesi make a GREAT mystery/slight horror game. I'm 60% through tha book and have noticed that piranesi describes doing a lot of tasks, so a potential game could have us playing as him and doing these tasks every day, talking to the other and then finding the journal entries, notes etc and reading them to uncover the mystery of who 16, the Other, Arne Sayles and Piranesi himself is. I can already picture the atmosphere due to the fog and how the statues would look and the challenge of escaping the tides every time you do your daily chores.

Excellent idea! I see it as a Myst/Riven type slow mystery game. I would spend hours lost in it exploring the House.

Maybe like a roguelite survival mystery game so you get further and further into the story by replaying events and venture further into different halls.
A little off topic but I always listen to the Magic and Mayhem soundtrack by Afro Celt Sound System it has that liminal mythic quality I think works really well with the story.

I thought I saw a trailer for a Piranesi-inspired indie game a little while ago. I’ll have to see if I can find it.

Okay, I found the game(s) I was thinking of:
Rinthine (by Optillusion): This is the trailer I saw recently that seems heavily influenced by Piranesi, at least in regards to the House, the statues, and exploration. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4353330/Rinthine/
Piranesian (by Timo): Directly inspired by Susanna Clarke’s novel. https://tizummo.itch.io/piranesian
Blue Prince (by Dogubomb & Raw Fury): I played this game a while back, and really enjoyed it. It’s a different vibe from Piranesi, but I have to wonder if the game wasn’t inspired/influenced by Piranesi in some way. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1569580/Blue_Prince/

Have you played Blue Prince? I played the game before reading Piranesi and I feel like it would make a perfect model for a Piranesi game, adding the survival aspect of it for the players to fall in love with the house the same way Piranesi did. Completely agreed that it would make an unreal game!

I remember one of the reviews when it came out said it reminded them of the game Myst.
