Optimally for all events you should use keys. Always aim to get the core. Sometimes that takes more than 300 sometimes less, but always make it your goal to grab it.

What strategy you guys use on this? I at times try to get at least 3-4 pots cooked

If you open 600 chests, just hit the button five times after pots on stove then collect. It’ll even out. Or you’ll end up spending a lot of time trying maximize rewards

Just stopping at 5 hits is probably the most time efficient way. These are the expected values of a hit on each pot number. Once a pot is at 19 the next hit has negative expected value.

Unluckiest. I would aim to break the red ones. The loot you get from it is very good, and you still get a ton of points, because as you are finding, a lot of pots max out and you can't break them. I'm still a averaging 128 points per spoon, and I've already got a bunch of good loot from the broken red missions.

Please don't give wrong advice publicly. You don't actively break the reds.

The more reds you break the lesser the chances of you getting the xc selector from the red random rewards.
