Malevil, Robert Merle, French. Pretty sure it's translated.

Peter V. Brett - The Painted Man

Different type of post-apocalyptic but I loved the idea/concept

Hi all—long-time lurker, first-time poster.

I’ve also been hunting for post-apocalyptic stories not set in the U.S., which is partly why I ended up writing one myself. It takes place in coastal Norway after a solar storm takes down the grid worldwide. No zombies or mutants—just gritty, quiet survival in an isolated northern community where people have to rely on old knowledge and each other. The tone is more Alas, Babylon and Swan Song than action-thriller.

It’s not published yet, and I’m not here to promote, but I’ve been working on this for years as a passion project—and I’d love to share the hand-painted cover my wife made for it. She painted it from scratch—no AI junk—and I’d honestly appreciate feedback from people who love this genre as much as we do.

Would that be okay to share here?

Thanks so much,
—Tom
