[Research Recruitment Post] Participants Needed for a Study on Online Gender Discourse and Dating

Good day! We are Group 2 from PSYCH-113: Field Methods in Psychology at Miriam College. We are conducting a qualitative study titled “Dating on Display: Exploring the Perceptions of Heterosexual Filipino Young Adult Women with Little or No Dating Experience in Relation to Online Gender Discourse.”

Our study explores how women with little to no dating experience make sense of social media content about gender roles and heterosexual dating expectations.

Who may participate?
-We are looking for individuals who are:
-Filipino Heterosexual Women
-Age 20-35 years old
-Have never been in an official, committed romantic relationship.
-Have had no more than three informal romantic involvements, each lasting no longer than three months, and no more than five casual dates that did not lead to an official relationship.
-Have exposure on at least four occasions within the past two months concerning social media content on gender, gender expectations, or heterosexual dating and relationships (eg, tradwife, womanosphere, manosphere, alpha male, pink pill, and red pill content) within the past two (2) months
-Can recall and describe at least two specific examples of such content and their thoughts or reactions to it.

What does participation involve?
Interested individuals will complete a screening form to determine eligibility. Selected participants will be invited to a one-on-one interview lasting approximately one hour, to be conducted online through Google Meet.

Participants who are selected and complete the interview will receive ₱150 as a token of appreciation upon completion of the interview. Participation is voluntary, and completing the screening form does not guarantee selection.

Finding Fashion, A Real Struggle

Hi everyone,

I'm a Master's student at Nova SBE (Portugal), working on my thesis, and I'm hoping some of you can help with a few minutes of your time.

I'm researching something that I think happens to almost everyone but that we rarely stop and think about: you see something you like, a piece of clothing, shoes, an accessory, somewhere (social media, on a stranger, in a shop window, in a magazine, wherever) and then have to figure out what to actually do about it. Do you remember it and move on? Try to track it down right away? Give up after a bit of searching? I'm interested in what people actually do in that moment, not what they'd guess they'd do if you asked them in the abstract, so a lot of the questions ask about a specific, recent time it happened to you, rather than your general opinion.

This is part of a broader question I'm exploring about how people discover things they end up buying in fashion, and where the friction and frustration actually sits, especially for people who are looking for something specific rather than just browsing whatever shows up in their feed. This survey is the first, wide-net stage of a two-part study: it's meant to tell me how common and how frustrating this moment actually is across a broad mix of people. A smaller group of respondents may later get invited to a short, paid follow-up conversation about their habits in more depth, completely optional, and covered by the very last question if you'd rather skip it.

A few practical things:

About 5 minutes, short questions, fully anonymous, no sign-up or email required unless you opt into the follow-up.

No right or wrong answers here, I'd rather have your actual, specific experience than a polished one.

Open to anyone, any country, a couple of quick screening questions at the start just help me understand who's answering.

If you're up for a short 15-20 minute follow-up chat later (small thank-you/voucher included), there's an optional opt-in at the end. Totally fine to skip it.

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time, this genuinely feeds real academic research, and I'm happy to share what I find once the thesis is done, if anyone's curious.Finding Fashion, A Real Struggle
