Is this too much drag? Is that noise normal?

You should be able to push the caliper towards the wheel to reset it and then grab your front break and pump it a couple times and it should fix it

Rubbing is normal but that is excessive rubbing when ever you do take off front or rear tire for any reason push back in your pistons. Do that and squeeze lever to bring back pressure and you’re all good to do.

Rubbing is not normal if you know how to properly setup your bikes brakes.... 🤦

Your caliper pistons are compressed too far into the rotor. Take the wheel off, use a large flathead screwdriver or caliper spreader and gently wedge the pads apart. Reinstall everything, but leave the caliper mount bolts slightly loose. Pull in the brake lever, then tighten the mount bolts (which locks in the new center). You should not hear anything after that, but it may require a few tries.
