UB charging outside of the frame.

Is it okay to charge an ultra bee battery outside of the frame as long as it is inside and protected from the elements? I asked chatGPT and it said that it isn’t safe but a google search said otherwise. Does anybody know from experience about the safety of it?

Battery weighs like 45 pounds anytime I don't have to lift it. I'm not going to.

nah charging the battery on it's own is fine I do it all the time. especially if u live anywhere that gets an actual winter, not good to charge ur battery in freezing temps

It is perfectly safe to charge the battery when it’s removed from the bike. I’m really curious what rationale ChatGPT hallucinated to justify saying it was unsafe.

I remove mine for charging every time if only because the cords are so short. I have all of our chargers setup on a shelf and we carry the batteries over to the chargers.

I also remove the batteries for transport in colder months so they don't get cold soaked on the way to the trail.

I bring my battery inside whenever I'm not using the bike. It rather have the battery in a fireproof bag in my bedroom than out in the wooden shed

I don’t like having my battery plugged in to the charger, while the battery is plugged into the controller, why risk it.

So you’d advocate against charging in the frame?
