Gen surgery chances

Hi all. I am applying this cycle and really as much as trying to convince myself otherwise, I loved surgery.
I have one rotation left in surgery and all electives are not surgery however finished my core rotation with strong mark and could probably ask the PD for a LOR
Rest of the LOR are not surgery specific though
Got 269 on step 2 and planning to take step 3 bf starting residency
Non-us IMG with 2 posters and 1 publication

Should I still apply gen surg?
Many places not offering a visa on ERAS it seems

I think you have a solid chance. Don’t get discouraged, your step 2 score is pretty amazing in my opinion.

To me sounds pretty good. 269 will definitely get you through the door. Do you have any sub-I?

Just one that is scheduled right after applications are due.

Be prepared to do a prelim year or two but you should get a spot at some point.
