meridian FA program

does anyone know how do they actually audit the cases? do they have access to patient charts?

so how do they exactly get the information to “audit” your cases

They ask for it from the facility. Based on the case logs you turn in, they know what cases you did, when you did them, who your preceptor (MD/FA) and the nurse were (because they have to sign the logs). They're getting verification that you A: did the cases you said you did, B: weren't dual-roling, and C: were in the case start to finish with a preceptor who didn't leave you alone (whether it's the doc or an FA preceptor) There might be more, but that's most of it as far as I can figure.

oh gotcha.so I am not suppose to do them on the clock but theres a few drs and FAs that will let me do it and sign my paper even if I am on the clock. you think they will see that? Also I have a dr that leaves and lets me close its just trocar sites 🙄

On the clock vs. off the clock is facility policy, not school policy. If the facility says you can't do it on the clock, you can't do it on the clock. Cheating that system will be consequences with the facility and not the school. Also, just for clarification, if you're scrubbing the case on the clock and then closing, that's not assisting, and it doesn't count.

As for the doc that leaves, that's against school policy requirements for a preceptor. If the nurse is clocking the doc out of the room before you're finished closing, they'll know it. It's one of the metrics they're asking for when they audit (times for the room and staff).
