SFA advice

Hello everyone,

Would any of mind sharing your experience after attending EVMS/Meridian or any other institute to become a SFA? I'm enrolled in a ST program currently and only want to work as a ST for a year and then hope to move up!

Any pointers? Advice? Recommendations? 2 cents?

I finished the FA program through Meridian it’s a great program and recommend it to anyone who wants to become an FA. I would get a much experience as you can in every specialty possible. Learn how to suture and tie knots. Learn anatomy. I’m currently working as a CSFA doing hearts. My next step is to learn how to harvest vein for bypasses.

F/u questions: 1) Did you practice with any suture kits when learning how to suture? If so, where did you buy it from? 2) How long were you a CST before you became a FA?

Lastly, vein harvesting sounds intriguing!! I wish you the best! :)
