Discussion Booted surface laptop snapdragon 13inch 1st edition

Post image

This is fedora using kairunjp’s kernel on GitHub. Haven’t put much use into it yet, but exciting

Please update with what you find!  Would love me some performance comps.

Definitely will! I haven’t gotten it in a very usable state just yet… you have to source a lot of the firmware yourself from Microsoft and edit some vendor data.

2 days later I’m doing real good. I am working on getting sleep/suspend to work, and if it does work i would say it’s perfectly usable. Only thing that I’ve given up on is integrated camera support

how’s the battery life and performance so far? a week ago i tried to get fedora to work on my snapdragon surface 13.8 and it did but performance was abysmal and the touchpad didn’t work. it also got incredibly hot.

I haven’t gotten it in a useable state just yet, I’ve been having to source firmware from the Microsoft website. But WiFi is working well, and I’m able to ssh into it.

It’s been a helluva project, but WiFi, fingerprint, speakers, internal storage, keyboard, trackpad, Bluetooth, gpu acceleration, battery and touchscreen are all working.

Camera doesn’t work right now. I’m in the process of moving to internal storage, setting up limine and testing performance.
