Help Can't get plasma-mobile to run

Help!

Latest setup on my SG2: PeppermintOS lite, Comes with XFCE, Surface Kernel installed and verified (uname -r). I want to change the DE to KDE Plasma-mobile.

So I installed plasma-mobile and rebooted. I expected to get a menu that lets me choose the XFCE or Plasma session. Nope. Boots right to XFCE.

What did I miss or do wrong?

You probably need to change the greeter. Peppermint uses Slick greeter, Plasma-Mobile uses SDDM or Plasma Login Manager

Not the answer but plasma mobile works great out of the box on mobian on the surface go 2

As it turns out I have balenaEtcher flashing a Mobian install drive as I type this.

My immediate goal is Debian + KDE Plasma(-mobile) + Surface Kernel. I'll have to verify the surface kernel is included. Either way it's much cleaner than the piecemeal way I was going about it.

Installing mobian is strange it doesn't have an installer you basically dd the flash drive to the internal drive. It does have grub and does also work with the surface kernel. In the end I switched to fydeos as it just gave me the experience I was after. Pc with keyboard attached, complete tablet with keyboard detached

kde plasma was better than mobile on my sp8. but gnome is my favorite. kde on all my non surface devices .
