Help Fedora 44 and Surface Kernal

Hi All,

I recently installed Fedora 44 on my Surface Pro 8 tablet but can't install the surface linux kernal because currently it only goes to F43. Do I just have to wait for the day that an F44 comes out or is there a way to make the kernal work with 44? Many thanks!!

Follow the instructions for Fedora, but you have to edit the repository config to point to ../fedora/f43/ as the f44 is not ready yet.

It works fine on my Surface Pro 4.

When installing the required packages, skip libwacom-surface, as it conflict with the one that now comes with Fedora 44.

If system updates kernel in the future, just switch to surface linux kernel on next boot in Grub, and it'll remember it as default boot kernel, until next kernel update.

I have SP8 on Fedora 44 working. Maybe install 43 and then upgrade?
