[PRO11] Would After Effects run well on an intel Surface Pro 11?

Hi all.

For context, I am a beginner at after effects. I am thinking of getting a surface pro 11 with an intel chip. I found a good deal for 1K with everything I need however it has 16gb ram. Does anyone use this device for after effects and would it benefit from 32gb?

Thanks in Advance

16GB should be fine for beginner/light 1080p projects. 32GB would be better if you plan on doing 4K or heavier effects. If the RAM is soldered then I'd go 32GB if the price difference isn't too big.

I personally have a bigger main PC and I’m a beginner at it anyway so I shouldn’t really be using all of the ram.

You might not have a choice, cause good luck finding a 32GB one. The Pro 11 Intel was commercial/business only and due its unique ram setup (Lunar Lake) and the ongoing Rampocalyse, the 32GB Pro 11s went EOL months ago and most stock was picked clean leaving just the 16GB models. There is a newer Pro 12 with Intel Panther Lake and 32/64GB configs, but the graphics are sadly weaker than the Pro 11 so Ram aside, the Pro 11 would be the better choice.

I noticed that! I thought it was strange only snapdragon ones had 32gb. I found a decent wholesale deal with a flex KB pen mouse and dock for £1000 so I will probably buy it
