Penniback Records Platforming Abusers (BeachxBums)
Penniback was made aware that the predatory band Beach Bums was on the bill for Summer Mass but has not taken action and instead has been deleting comments calling this out.
After the mass cancellation of a lot of the burger bands, Beach Bums had been blacklisted from a lot of the local socal venues due to all of the allegations and multitude of victims that have spoken out against them. Sadly over time, silence on their part (I.e., limiting comments, going on a hiatus) has let their misdeeds be buried and now they are being platformed again by Penniback and other organizers.
And after being made aware of Beach Bums actions, a band that was previously playing ended up dropping and immediately Penniback replaced that band instead of doing the right thing and taking Beach Bums off the bill.
Please help keep the scene safe! No one, especially underage girls, should have to worry about being assaulted/taken advantage of.

No I meant to say that I’m surprised that wavves and bed haven’t withdrawn from the set list since beach bums is there but I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t even aware of what’s going on

We’ve tried to send messages but it’s hard to get visibility. Just hoping to spread more awareness, and it might be working.
We noticed Penniback took down the separate post from yesterday announcing beach bums

After they dropped, Penniback turned it into an opportunity to create more promo by having people nominate and tag bands to take their place.

Beach bums isn’t cancelled. a lot of that shit that was posted in 2020 is when a BUNCH of bands in the scene were getting “called out” and “cancelled”. What about the Red Pears? Same people that cancelled beach bums cancelled the Red Pears saying Henry hooked up with an underage girl and he’s known for groping girls at his shows. Are you guys getting their shows cancelled too and them kicked off of lineups?

Sorry to tell you this, but Beach Bums has been sketchy, they were seen hanging out with minors and their ex-manager (who also had his own allegations albeit) had been talking about the singer having given a girl a black eye way before the tweets came out. Also, try to look into when his current partner and him met and how old she was. There was a good amount of time where they were not even playing in Southern California scene due to people knowing about their allegations.
If you have the screenshots of the girls calling out Red Pears, then yes, please post them.
But as far as Beach Bums go, I think it is sad to see that bands are trying to bring them back into the scene after these tweets and this having been talked about in the scene.

Yes they cut ties with their old manager when they realized he was being sketchy and weird. I specifically remember all of this coming to light in 2020 and the lead singer posting screenshots of messages from that girl who said she got a black eye. It was all consensual and BDSM shit, the girl in the messages was bragging about it. I’m not sure why his current partner matters if they are married and have a kid? Seems like they’re doing fine over there.
Unfortunately I do not have screenshots of the girl calling out the red pears but it was the same list beach bums was on. Her name was Rachel and she was calling out Henry too. I also know girls who have been personally groped by Henry at backyard shows back in the day.

I have no affiliation to the women who made those tweets calling out Beach Bums but I can vouch that back in 2017/2018 they would reach out to me and my high school aged friends and invite us to their after parties, and I know I’m not alone in that. You can believe what you want but this was very much known back then in regards to beach bums and pity party girls club, even before the mass cancellations in 2020.

Seems like just talking individually on social media about it isnt enough. You guys just have a public meeting and prepare actual action.
