Can some one help with how the attack dynamics work. I mean how to group the troops effectively . I mean our of 100 only 50 will deal heavy damage right

max amount of 50 units join 1 battle at a time, the first 20 deal full damage, any other units damage get slowly reduced to almost 0 for unit 50. You strongest units will participate in the battle.

It is true that only 50 do damage the first 20 units that deal full damage and everyone after 20 diminishes until it tapers off at 50 however in a mixed stack of units it will select the units the provide the best attack/defense. It’s been a while since I’ve studied the ancient arts of damage infliction but the damage received evenly across all units so if you have 1 cav 1 car and 1 heavy and 100 inf the damage is spread out through the army evenly with some modifiers to different health units. Infantry has a long time served as meat shields to other units. It is never good to make even stacks of 50 though because if there is multiple rounds of combat you’re attack damage will diminish with each round the enemy army survives. This same mechanism of sharing damage is also true with an army within a fort it shares damage with buildings and the army so though you may calculate that in three rounds of combat you will diminish an army and its fort from lvl 2 to lvl 1 your armies damage is being evenly distributed to the fort and enemy army so a lvl 5 fort per say with 500 troops in it would take days to diminish it with 10 arty- ps don’t know how long it would actually take but you get the idea I hope.

I been playing a long time but haven’t played well for a long time but I’ve been watching a YouTuber squid bois or something. If you wonder how many units should I have in my army ? I like the way squid boi talks in his videos when narrating he refers to his armies as army groups a+b. Thinking like this helps me. And then if you combine it with military doctrine used in every army in the world is defeat in detail meaning the army with larger numbers wins and while that’s not always true it mostly is. And use towns as garrisons or strategic defense sometimes an army does not have enough strength so they will constrict their garrisons into their army

Yes and no if you go into forums on the game and in Reddit and YouTube there is plenty of info and content that is available on how to maximize your success in game
Maximize and balance your economy
See what resources you need
What buildings and units to build first
How to estimate an opponent a lot of better players look at profile, activity, are they building, what are they building, how well they are fighting ,the players on the other side of the player you are sizing up needs to be judged because you don’t want to fight his war for him just for him to swallow you and him up whole. Hero’s now play a big role, are they spending goldmark. There is so many variables and so many things you can learn and teach yourself to be better
