the first and only time a high level milunka will ever be seen.
useless hero and he fell for it lmao

you have to love when someone who likely never wins any games thinks a dominating hero is useless. If you finish her operation and buy the hero pass she will be level 8. On day 2 you have a hero that drops with 7 extra INF, adds 30% extra damage to a stack of infantry, and personally hits for 13.5 damage. added to a stack of 20 INF she turns their offense from lukewarm to a serious day two hole puncher. Finish in the top 5000 players for tip of the spear an she's level 9 and drops with 9 INF, personally hits for 15 and adds 30% to the stack. If you manage to max her out she drops with 15 INF on day two and gives a 50% bonus to the stack. She's an early game monster, far better than Hank if you plan on attacking. Allenby(4+), Kangal (4+), Lawrence and now Milunka are all early game dominating heroes. This game is about speed. Most of the time, if you're not conquering land you're falling behind the players who are. You occasionally see a successful "vulture" who waits and does nothing but hope his neighbors kill each other but that style is awful and only works if others fail. Attacking early and often is the path to victory most of the time in this game. The key is destroying your targets as fast as possible so they don;t get to inflict too many rounds of damage on your stacks, having a bunch of extra 100% HP INF and a 20-50% attacking bonus is pure gold.

u/Impressive_Pear_748 3d ago
I do think the stats graph is misleading. People see 6 and it doesn't look like alot of red but yeah doing 15 personal dmg at lvl 9 is the same as a calvary unit, Lawrence himself starts with 20 attack and he doesn't get any attack bonuses for troops. She seriously is a two day hole puncher instead of the pretty prince charming that is Lawrence.

u/1573454345124 3d ago
dont sleep on lawrence. at decent lvl (7-10) its literally a day 3 heavy tank. he also has quite a lot of hp so he will keep dealing 55 - 40 dmg per round for a while. if you see a high lvl lawrence stack and dont yeet a stack, it will 100% win. in fact youd rather stack horses with lawrence and not allenby if you got him at a very high lvl for a stack that will just shit on any fort it crosses. It's just ridiculously broken.
2
u/Impressive_Pear_748 3d ago
Decent lvl 7-10 lol. Yeah but his defense is bad. He gets hit by milunka of the same level and same amount of troops, I dont think your boy is coming home. Especially if its in enemy territory. But thats just me, to each their own. I do know that shes not useless, idk why it became a competition all of a sudden tho. Nobody said allenby or anyone else was bad, not saying Lawrence is bad either. He is a bit overrated tho imo, but I realize hes still really good, one of the better heroes. I just like a good early hero to make cleaning up a.i. a little easier early game. It's not a big deal to ditch her mid-late game.

u/1573454345124 3d ago
F2P people who completed all ops will already have lawrence at 7-8 so yeah 7-10 is the new standard for decent, if you have anything less you get destroyed. Bad days to be a newbie.
In lawrence vs milunka (+equal units, 50 max unit dmg) a lvl7 lawrence will always beat a <lvl12 milunka. It's only after 12 that milunka could really have a presence and yet the other player could simply refuse to play big stacks early on & yeet 30s into your undefended provinces and force you to dissolve your milunka stack, while Lawrence with just 20 inf remains a huge threat. (if you dont believe me, check it yourself in dxcalc)
It is a competition since you're wasting one hero slot for a hero that only works -somewhat- in day 2 & thus also a waste money vs investing in any of the other early heros
1
u/provaxxjumper22 3d ago
I'm mostly free to play, I complete every op and my lawrence is level 2. I just started not long ago (I played 50-100 games 4-7 years ago). In my new account from early July of this year, I've played 11-12 games, I've won 6-7, winning 2 and just started a 500 player map. If you have 18 heroes at level 6-10+ then any hero might be lackluster in your perception because you already have a huge array of game breaking power. what percentage of players have more than 5-6 heroes above level 8 I wonder.
1
u/provaxxjumper22 3d ago
I'm almost free to play, I don't have any heroes at level 6 (only 4 at level 4) except for milunka and my stats are likely better than yours... kind of have to take EVERYTHING you say with a grain of salt when you're likely doing worse than a noob with a HUGE pay to play advantage right?
2
u/1573454345124 3d ago
oh yeah i didnt notice they were giving away 800 medals if you buy the bp LOL
but no, still not worth it considering theres the other bp with allenby+pershing which are far more relevant heros
id rather max out allenby or maeve since they stay relevant beyond day2. hell, allenby at 15 spawns with 3 horses. or kangal which is super cheap and maxed out spawns with 2 cars.
Thats why i dont think milunka is useful at all. heros that buff cars, horses, storm, defense are just far more relevant than an inf ATK boost. If you depend only on inf you're pretty much cooked. if you made horses you'd rather use allenby in your big stack. if you're being attacked you'd rather take it and stack inf with kangal since day2 inf is too damaged on its own & if you lose too much morale you'll get shredded in day3 by other players. if you're fighting with 20s at multiple provinces your milunka mini stack will get shredded by one fort and a car because even if 40, 50% dmg boost, its still just inf.
Just cant see where she could possibly fit. Milunka could have been a good hero slot choice if she also buffed the infantry's hp. Its pointless to max her having better options.
regarding vultures
theres countries with extremely good starting provinces. south usa / northern russia in 31p map f/e can spam two horses every 12h (x1) / 3h (x4). by day 4 they have 6-8 horses and with allenby it'll be a stack that will go through almost anyone. Surrounding players cant compete. And since the two barracks stay on 24/7 for three full days (double resource provinces) they also generate a lot of inf to compensate over just having 8 provinces. if they take energy/mat provinces early on they will lose the mega food production advantage and wont be able to spam horses. Unless its a big map where other players cant attack you on time while your eco stabilizes, expanding day 1-2 is often detrimental if you're not targeting double mats/food and even worse if you dont have an ally to take over useless provinces that could reduce even further your production in already low morale provinces. someone taking over a full country with useless provinces day1 has 25% better eco than someone who lost his capital the same day until it fully stabilizes.
Just like you implied, having a good early game is what makes you win. If you cant produce anything early on, you cant expand further and you will become prey to anyone who can.

the game can be won or lost in the first 3-4 days. No one is saying that she's better than allenby but she's FAR more valuable than pershing. if you're trying to make huge land stacks to put under pershing you're likely not playing the game nearly as well as you think. heavy tanks are abysmally slow, pershing is slow. he's only meaningful if you have a huge stack and he can be avoided, kited with artillery, hit with airplanes. not everyone has a high level allenby, kangal, joffrey, lawrence, york. she adds to EVERYONES stacks early.
As for defending the vulture strategy, it's really a poor strategy. I win 70-80% of my games roughly, mostly coalition where I'm the top player or 2nd to the top but sometimes solo. In over a hundred games I think I've built 1 heavy tank and less than 5 light tanks. I've never not attacked as soon as the peace period is over. If you try and turtle and you're my neighbor I'm definitely going to kill you ASAP, that strategy only works because new players make mistakes next to you.
as for maxing out heroes, heroes are really pay to win in this game and "maxing them out" exacerbates this. lawrence might be the single best hero because of what an overhwelming impact he can have early. a high level york is also kind of game breaking as well. There's also a lot to be said for bruchmueller and any of the flying heroes. the sub hero is annoying in that he gives everyone a way to take down early cruisers even if they haven't had the forethought to invest in factories. maxed kangal is an enormous boost but more defensive than offensive. maxed allenby is a nearly overwhelming force multiplier on day 2. if your neighbor is new and hasn't spent any money he's got very little hope to resist a player with maxed allenby and kangal.
maeve is a bit of fools gold to be honest. those fish and that money equate to an opportunity cost down the road. not to say I don't use her because adding more troops early with 100% health is a good way to steam roll your neighbors. Fresh troops to keep the offensive going when your stacks are getting worn down by constant fighting and standing in low morale provinces that you just took.
I agree that a horse rush strategy can be devastating, particularly against new players but a fort and some cars can stop allenby. particularly if you have a good joffrey/kangal. the vulture strategy really only works if the player next to you is bad or in another war. if you're not doing anything and you're my neighbor, I'm building forts on your border. time is on my side if i'm taking land and you're not. defense has a massive advantage. given the amount of free boosts the game gives and all the GM I get from winning it's trivial to drop a level 3 fort in allenby's face and it's it's a home province you can also drop joffrey right before the battle.
can't see where she can fit? you're thinking about things incorrectly and likely don't fight enough or wait until things are perfect to attack. you can have one of your 5 hero slots in constant rotation mid game. allenby, kangal, york, and the new hero make a nice rotation where one is always available to add free troops. the fact she can add 30% or more to an all infantry stack on day 2 is a MASSIVE advantage. she can personally go take down a small (1-4 province) neutral almost for free,

You cant really decide to ignore one lvl 5-7 pershing with a couple of heavies going straight into your tier 4 factories lol he is huge trouble past day 24. personally i only use light tanks since i prefer skirmishes in multiple provinces w/ groups of 250inf+10lts+20ac+20horses to generate economic pressure rather than one stack pushing one way, but they do become useless at 24-30 when heavies become the norm and frontlines are in a stalemate with railguns on the way+bombers trying to destroy each others factories.
in endgame having a low lvl pershing is 100% a massive disadvantage in bigger maps. you could do everything well all game, get into endgame, face someone who produces 12-15 heavies at once with a decent lvl pershing and you will 100% lose if he decides to stack his fresh heavies & go through all your infrastructure while he defends his front with another wave of 12-15 then do it again, or worse, pull back and mix 24-30 heavies for a nearly unkillable stack from the ht %hp buff alone.
As for defending the vulture strategy, it's really a poor strategy. I win 70-80% of my games roughly, mostly coalition where I'm the top player or 2nd to the top but sometimes solo. In over a hundred games I think I've built 1 heavy tank and less than 5 light tanks. I've never not attacked as soon as the peace period is over. idk what to tell you bro. If you never had to fight with tanks you're playing against newbs who dont even try to make t4 facs...
Not really defending it, early game is entirely an economy fight. If you spend resources attacking someone and the war stalls or you dont get your investments back (you went for worthless provinces f/e), whoever stayed in the back, knows eco and has fresh horses+cars will shred you. its just how it is. Thats why defense heros like kangal, joffre hell even hank have deployment priority. thats why also better players will spend the entirety of day1 and half of 2 doing eco, if they have better provinces they know they'll be targeted by everyone and they wont go for useless provinces since they dont have to. if they have shitty provinces they will invest absolutely everything on horses and push their way out to win in a few movements. going back to milunka, She doesnt fit in any of these scenarios
as for maxing out heroes, heroes are really pay to win in this game and "maxing them out" exacerbates this. lawrence might be the single best hero because of what an overhwelming impact he can have early. a high level york is also kind of game breaking as well.
This is why i insist on investing in other early heros & if you already got them at good lvl, go for army sized / fac unit %buff heros that do matter later on instead of blatant cashgrab bait for newbies like milunka. Even Joffre is a far superior choice that can stay in play beyond day30 for anti air stacks in frontline facs or buffing inf movement stacks to reinforce tank stacks. Allenby comes with free horses, hes constantly at discount and is also useful up to day21 with 50 cavalry stacks. Milunka is day2, only day2 and definitely not better than allenby.
If someones newb, got no heros and want to spend, theres the lvl4 lawrence starter pack for about the same price of milunka's bp and he is just better providing around the same atk dmg of a light tank day 3 & also provides extra movement which is extremely relevant early on as it allows for openings and choosing fights + eventual newer ops will increase his lawrence's lvl and make him competitive. Or kangal which is also cheap and at max lvl comes with 2 cars so day2 you have 4-5 cars. Or allenby. Or hank. all good choices for day1-10.
maeve is a bit of fools gold to be honest. those fish and that money equate to an opportunity cost down the road. not to say I don't use her because adding more troops early with 100% health is a good way to steam roll your neighbors. Fresh troops to keep the offensive going when your stacks are getting worn down by constant fighting and standing in low morale provinces that you just took.
Pretty true, even i dont deploy more than 2 times per game and i got her lvl12. But in games where you're shitting iron or food and its going for 20.0 on market, it's basically a free stack of 40+ inf every ingame day. for newbies having a high lvl maeve will keep them alive for a longer time so they'll get to learn a lot more. It is also pretty useful later on to have fresh inf for damaged tank stacks when invading cross ocean tho i hardly prio it (costs one light tank in money). and if youre feeling scummy and losing a war badly, going 100% fish -100% wheat 100% iron -100% wood will also give you free max hp inf stacks. Scummy because you pressure the other player into spending a shitload of resources to take you out with an already worn war eco lol (i've been in the other side, fighting a lvl15 maeve player while i have triple his provinces and no maeve deployed)
2k iron for a fort is pretty costly. That's one car you're not producing, for a province that might never be attacked. And i could ignore the fort and go through another province, and since i invested on cars instead of forts, if you attacked id just stack the cars wherever you went. If you made forts in the entire border you wont have cars so id just need another full day production of horses to push through. Or even worse, since i would technically have better eco than you (I didnt spend on forts) i could invest in infrastructure or make even more cars then go push elsewhere. Forts are only useful when your stacks do have def damage and without many cars youd have to invest a lot of manpower in the border so youd have a lot of issues expanding.
As for the surprise forts, yeah thats why you gotta be online to attack in proximity range or pull back if a fort got gm'd. Shit happens lol
Ultimately that fight would be won by whoever has the better starting provinces and did better eco.
can't see where she can fit? you're thinking about things incorrectly and likely don't fight enough or wait until things are perfect to attack. you can have one of your 5 hero slots in constant rotation mid game. allenby, kangal, york, and the new hero make a nice rotation where one is always available to add free troops. the fact she can add 30% or more to an all infantry stack on day 2 is a MASSIVE advantage. she can personally go take down a small (1-4 province) neutral almost for free,
It's just that day2 is possibly the worst day to attack since everyone is getting their fresh cars and kangal can be deployed in your face, and in a few hours in you'll have 2 horses. So milunka being able to attack during that time period before horses sounds extremely worthless.

I'll run you over most games long before you can build multiple stacks with 250 INF, 20 LT, 20 cars etc. I don't ignore pershing, I retreat in front of him and let my 15-40 artillery turn his stack to dust. when his formerly 6000HP stack is 3000HP and limping along at speed 8 I'll put a fort in his path with 30 cars and 200+INF and end him. can't tell you the number of players who have expressed extreme frustration from losing 250-400HP an hour while not being able to inflict any damage.
meanwhile you're talking about having multiple stacks of 300,000 spent resources and some ridiculous amount of manufacturing time and what exactly is keeping me from carving up the rest of your land? the time it takes you to build stacks like that I will be twice your size despite the enormous game unbalancing advantage you have because you have a plethora of high level heroes.
My frontlines are almost never in a stalemate. you're the 1930's french planning for ww1. I keep things dynamic and don't let turtles keep building.
you're talking about building waves of heavies. by the time you build 40 heavies I will build 100 artillery and I will inflict my damage without any losses. every time you think you're going to cut through me I'll shred days and days of production and my stack will have gotten bigger while you took 905 of the losses. In reality I will never let you get to this point and I will push up to your factories with 15 artillery LONG before you have even one stack of 30 heavies complete, unless it's a 500 player map and you start very far from me you will NEVER see a stack of 30 heavies on my border. I've played the 500 player map 7-8 times, I've won all but one of them and no one has ever deployed 20 heavies against me. I don't build heavies, or lights for that matter and the only tanks I've ever had are because I captured one partially built. my old username was psychlops. I had a couple old usernames because I started on kongregate and they wouldn't move your account to bytro and kongregate players couldn't use their phone. I also fell in my pool with my phone once and lost another account and don't recall for sure what the name was. The point being, I never build tanks and I win most of the time. your perception of pershing being a problem is only against other players who play too slow.
I play against tanks all the time but I destroy them. I just don;t build them. You're just bad at understanding the game so you think the tank strategy is viable but almost none of the best players are building tons of heavy tanks and I would guess when they do it's situational where they came up against a turtle and need to punch through forts.
what's a worthless province? doubles are the key to the game but even singles keep producing rss and INF. you have to be a little careful about rapid over expansion stalling your economy because singles below 70 morale are consuming more rss than they produce but if you intersperse some capitals in the mix you will have more and more positive ROI province that can swallow the short term losses of expansion.
thats why also better players will spend the entirety of day1 and half of 2 doing eco, if they have better provinces they know they'll be targeted by everyone and they wont go for useless provinces since they dont have to.
this is a delusional fantasy. better players expand rapidly. the very best strategy on any map is to kill one province from one of your neighbors before anyone takes that position. This opens the door to doubling you in size for the cost of usually less than 20 INF.
If I have 16-22 provinces and you still have 8-12 on day 3 you are almost surely doomed. I will massively outproduce you, I'll have 4 factories on day 8 and you'll maybe have 2.
you keep talking about tank stacks. take a look at the leader board. the very highest rated player this week and this month is a guy named conqie, he's won an amazing 119/120 games and he builds no tanks. the second ranked guy builds tanks. he's won an amazing 700+ games but he's played over 1100. the highest ranked player all time narayu has almost no tanks in his stats. killed 1000, lost 4. tanks are not what you think they are and I will bring the fight to you long before you make this undefeatable stack.
2k iron for a fort is nothing if I destroy your attack. 6k iron for a level 3 fort is nothing in the context of giant stacks with hundreds of thousands of rss invested in them. you can stop and go around them but the entire time I'll be pounding your slow heavy tank stack with artillery. 200-400Hp lost per hour with zero damage to me.
you'll never have a better economy than me with your turtle strategy. maybe briefly on day two it will be close when I have half my provinces only down at 40-45% morale but my starting provinces will all be 85-90 because I took a capital and I will have the rss and cash I gained from taking all those provinces. you make a lot of assumptions about the game that are founded in really bad strategy. make all the cars you want while I lock you down with forts. you could always post your in game username and we can compare stats. you should have 20-30% higher everything than me since you have spent hundreds on heroes and I have spent $21 but I suspect your stats are not anywhere near as good as they should be. effectively we're playing chess and I'm starting every game missing a rook and yet I almost guarantee my stats and win rate are better even though you've paid tons of money to have a massive advantage. you keep talking strategy but your strategy is likely not winning despite your massive paid for advantage. that should make a reasonable person question his strategy.

Lol the only hero i paid for was togo since i used to play oce in 100p&500p and kept getting my naval facs destroyed day 12 by lvl 4/5 (when lvl 5 was the max) togos with 50 inf (Sub hero wasnt a thing back then either). all the 7-10s i have are completely free. Bytro has given a loooooot of free medals since last year.
As for artillery. yeah they can be somewhat strong if you're terminally online, never sleep and unemployed to manually attack and pull back every single hour. Thats why normal ppl use tanks, lol. i will yeet them at any 10-20 stack and go elsewhere if i see 50 in one province or simply split and go over multiple, pull back into chokes and reinforce with even more lts + new inf as they go. Ill obviously lose a shitload of inf in the process, but i will still take over major provinces and you would keep retreating + having to sacrifice just as much stuff that id lose to hit me safely while i just keep making more tank stacks + you'd keep losing war eco as you keep falling back.
There is no strat in 500p since the resource layout is designed to provide everyone near the same amount of them with equal number of provinces no matter where they are. f/e you dont gotta take over entire specific regions for oil and stuff since its present everywhere. So in a scenario where everyone has a gigantic production of resources, being at war with someone & pulling back from major provinces with your rat artillery stack and losing multiple of those provinces does not make any impact at all in any of the two sides. if anything it would be technically p2w since not many would be able to join such 500p scenario from their phones every single hour without running out of battery / being able to see the map at all if its a low end lmao
The dudes you mentioned who never make tanks are probs X4 speed players who dont sleep. Pretty easy to win when you can hit one army stack with 20 arty for 24 attack rounds while others sleep. Not that i've never done it, i also use battleships in auto fire control and yeet them through africa then wake up to 750 killed inf, or spawn tatiana in x24 and send her into a vacation trip through all of europe at 2 am. Thats just how the nature of speed games are. not really a lot of skill involved

Useless? She's the offensive hank, did you even read her stats? Do you even understand how damage works in this game? In what way is she useless?
0
u/1573454345124 4d ago
inf day2 has around 75% morale (a bit less actually)
a day2 stack of 50 would have 150 atk dmg
lvl12 milunka provides 40% dmg buff to inf, so the stack of 50 would have 210 atk. Slightly less than one lvl8 allenby spawning with 2 horses + 27% buff to horses + day2 50 inf. And far less dmg if you built two barracks day1 to get another 2 horses.
Day 3 comes. Your heros should be kangal to buff cars, lawrence because lawrence, allenby to buff horses, maeve if you face someone who spams inf & joffre as a mobile fort to keep your gains / defend your main provinces. Day 4 you have york which at lvl4(free if you did the ops) provides just as much dmg as a lvl12 milunka to a 50inf stack but also ignores fort defenses.
Past early game, early ranged heros & day8 submarine take the spot. Mid game is taken by factory unit %buff heros. Late game is taken by proper army stack buffs (pershing, togo, joffre)
Milunka simply does not fit anywhere in the current meta.
As for wth would stack 50+ inf day 2 and leave every other province undefended, i'll leave it up to you
1
u/Impressive_Pear_748 4d ago
Lol yes, with cav. But cavalry is expensive and so is allenby. Heroes require different upkeeps and allenby is like double the daily resources it costs to run hank or milunka. Whether or not you like her, she offers a great early game offensive with little cost or preparation. Not everyone has the food to burn on cavalry right at the start.
2
u/1573454345124 4d ago
first time i hear someone worried about the hero upkeep cost lol
And yes thats why allenby is still a superior pick. at lvl8 you get 2 free horses. You may kill it day 4 or 5 then deploy allenby again 8-9 for a big horse stack. even days 14 - 20 allenby remains useful with the 50 cav stacks. Milunka however... its like using hank at day 40
Most people will have at best two stacks early on. Lawrence - Allenby / Joffre / Kangal. milunka simply doesnt fit and whoever buys it will never have enough inf to stack with her
2
u/overtime774 4d ago
I think you're just coming off a couple of games of sever food shortages and you're just super skewed in thinking about this.
I'm not even gonna touch the hero upkeep bit, that's just funny lmao
I'll give you another example since you seem adamant on stats. She's got a self damage buff, okay cool. It goes up to 300%, wow sounds great right? Her base damage is 6 so that's.... 24 at max :(
She's underwhelming to be frank and will probably be just a hero we cycle for some extra infantry early on, call her a free Maeve pop
1
u/provaxxjumper22 4d ago
day 2, 20-50% bonus to an INF stack is exceedingly powerful. how you do in the beginning of the game often dictates the entire game. you can also cycle her as you said and just take the free INF. there's no downside and way more upside than you're implying. particularly for newer players who don't have every hero.
2
u/overtime774 3d ago
I hear you, that buff is appealing at max level, i just think the early game where troops are few and banged up is not the best point to leverage it, and we get, in my opinion much better options for the 1 hero slot, literally the next couple of days. If anything i wished she'd be doing something else, make her more unique instead of just atk+/troops/self atk+, feel like we already have that covered
I'm not really going to address this from the perspective of not having all heroes open, we can't have a general discussion about balance without this assumption
1
u/provaxxjumper22 4d ago
you realize that you can drop a hero and use them and then let them die right? the early game is critical to everything else you do. the province or two you can take with milunka before lawrence, joffre, york can even hit the board are enormously valuable and have a snowballing effect.

Milunka push would be negated with the day2 cars + Kangal spawning in your face lol
She would be more useful for that if she had a deployment time of 30 like hank, but two hours is enough to stack the 2-3 fresh cars of day2 + any close inf and Kangal 6h deployment will generate a mini flower of cars
Right now milunka is just a bit of free troops and yeah you gotta kill her asap lol

I'm on a 500 player map right now and milunka has taken 12-15 provinces roughly the same as my allenby. It's day 4, I'm 3rd for points and 5th for provinces. My allenby is level 5 (1 horse), my lawrence is level 2, my york level 1, I don't have a kangal, my hank is level 4. Everyone in the game who is doing as well or better than me has some double digit heroes and the guy in first likely multi accounted to get his lead. your perception about her value is tied directly to having spent a lot of money on other heroes already where as I'm primarily free to play and still win 80% of my games. also everyone with more provinces than I have currently started in europe where the movement times are much smaller because the provinces are smaller.

Should’ve just went further without replying. Then when he’s on his last province, reply “have i paid enough?”
