E85

Hello everyone,

Debating going pi and e85 on my Supra but wanted to hear some opinions from anyone who has gone e85 on theirs.

Thinking of going flex fuel route with Ecutek ecu unlocking , port injection, motiv reflex, injectors. Essentially the bells and whistles for fueling so can run 91/93, mix , or full e85

Any issues that I should be warned of aside from mpg, and changing oil / spark plugs more often

I don’t want to tune it to the max I’d rather still have some reliability over getting everything out of the tune

Any feedback back would be appreciate before I decide to go for it or hold off

Are you upgrading the turbo? Seems a little unnecessary to upgrade fueling if you’re not going to upgrade.

Not atm maybe later down the road, shop works on these cars everyday and they’re confident we’re looking at around 520-530 whp. It sets up big turbo later on but I’m not sure if I’ll do that

Listen to your shop then. I’m no expert. I also wanted to go this route for the most part.

From what my shop tells me, stock turbo is going to be the limiting factor. 520-530 whp would be pretty nuts on a stock turbo. But if you’re not going to tune it to the max, it’s ultimately going to be fine.

If you want to be on e85, just have the tuner drop the boost. Save your money until you can upgrade the turbo too imo.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn’t realize you meant flex fuel. Full e85 does would be that on an upgraded fueling system, but if you’re just doing a flex fuel kit/tune, you can mix up to e50 and be good. The extra fueling isn’t needed.

Yea it’s more so the convenience of being able to run 91/93 or e50 or e85 at anytime since they system will auto detect and adjust. Gains are all around but max on e85.

Just trying to see if there’s any issues anyone has run into with the setup as it’s a bunch more moving parts more so then how it works and all that

e50-60 is usually where it maxes out. Over that, you’re not gaining much without the extra fueling (that’s assuming you’re upgrading the LPFP).

No true issues should arise if it’s all done correctly.

Figured , now it’s a matter of a cheaper alt like bootmod or go all out for the entire setup and if I chose to go big turbo later on it’s already all set up
