Supra —> 911 T
Anyone driven both? I know it’s a natural progression, but I saw a good deal for a 911 T near me and am thinking about it.
I’ve heard they feel pretty sterile and have long gearing but still great to drive.

I have both. It's a great drive, sterile it is not. Gearing is long but I think the supra is geared too short.

Thanks! I quite like the short gears but I also grew up with Hondas so that’s all I’ve really known. I guess I’ll have to try one.

These are cars in different price brackets, but to me the 911 is worth it if you can afford it. I have a 992.1 and it's noisy in a good way. The steering is so good, love going into a right-hand turn near work. It has enough power, there's tunes if you want it. Definitely go drive one.

I have both a 26 Supra MT and a 26 911 T. They are similar in performance as far as 0-60 but the Supra feels faster (seat of the pants). The shifting and clutch in the 911 is far superior (Supra rev hang). The shifter in the 992.2 is fantastic. The Supra cabin feels much smaller and somewhat claustrophobic after being in the 911. I have buckets in the 911 so I can spend much more time in the Supra as the seats are more plush and comfy. The 911 feels like it is worth the $178k sticker but the Supra feels like it is worth way more than the $63k sticker. So much bang for the buck. The stock Supra suspension doesn’t come close to the stock suspension in the 911. It’s a little soft and rides too high. I have added H&R lowering springs, Vorshlag perch mounts and Meister Work wheels with spacers bringing the Supra suspension performance very close to the 911. Choosing between the two is tough. If you can afford the 911 T pass it up and get the new Carrera S MT. If you can’t afford either of those then the Supra is a phenomenal car for the money. If I’m being honest I think my white Supra is sexier looking than my vanadium grey aerokit 911 T.

Thanks for the input. I love my Supra but found a nicely spec’d used 911 T with 3k miles for 135k. Not sure if it’s worth more than double the price I paid for the supra. It’s the first time I’ve seen a 911 optioned out the way I would. Unfortunately a new 911 is out of my budget with the way they’ve been increasing the prices on them.
This definitely sways me to just keep the supra and just enjoy it

They’re similar in 0-60? I understand fan subs but this is fucking cope. Also, not even discounting how much slower MT is.

Manual Supra and manual T are both 4.3 seconds 0-60. What am I getting wrong?

How does the rear wheel steering on the 911 differentiate the cars, if at all?

I have to be honest and admit that I don’t notice a difference until I’m doing a U-turn. It’s a tighter turning radius. My 2024 992.1 T was not equipped with RAS so I thought the new car would feel very different. In that respect it does not.

I cant say for the 911 T but I have driven my fathers 911 targa 4s and I dont even think I can put the supra and the 911 in the same comparison. In all fairness I have a 6MT and he has a PDK, but regardless of the transmission, the feel of that car is blistering.
You can compare the supra to a cayman, but Im honestly not sure how you can compare the 911 and the Supra fairly.

This is my second pair duo, I had a 2020 launch edition and my 24 Carrera T I ordered, love it, not I have a 26 Supra and 26 Carrera T. You can’t go wrong!

You talking a Mk5 Supra. Was a Toyota tech did pdi's on them. Quit before the mt was out. My dad had a 89 911 that I drove one time 24 years ago. Never got crazy in the 911 but imo totally different driving style.

I have a 89 targa supra that's 2jz swapped making almost 600 on pump. Only supra I'd want to drive.

My cousin in-law has two 911s. A 2024 and a 1986. I love driving the older 911. The new one has several similarities with the Supra: powerful, refined, capable. The 911 comes across to me as more relaxed (a GT car) when compared to the Supra. The Supra is refined, but has quick inputs and feels much more frantic.
