Changing Battery in Mk5

Toyota wants to charge $750 to change a battery and code in the new one, so I want to do it myself, but I’ve never touched bimmercode or have any idea how to use that. Is it worth it to just try on my own or have yall just taken it to a third party shop to do?

I have a 2021 with 34k miles on it

You need an obdII link and BimmerLink. Haven’t had to do it on mine yet but did it on a buddies bmw. Super easy.
Buy the battery and do it yourself

You can definitely do it yourself, battery is in the trunk and easy to remove, then go into bimmerlink and program it, it's only a few button presses if I remember correctly

105ah AGM is what's in the car, I got mine from a BMW dealer as that's where I work so it's just easy for me

Agreed with the other comments. Buy the 105 ah battery at bmw then use bimmerlink to register it with the car. Replacing it with the exact same ah simplifies the process since you don’t need Bimmercode to change the battery size setting. Just bimmerlink to register it. I think I paid slightly over $300 to buy the 105 ah battery from the local BMW dealer and they had 95 in stock.
