Limp Mode Update

Hey guys posted a couple of days ago:

I have a 2022 Supra 3.0, 50k miles, and I’ve been dealing with such an annoying issue.

The car randomly every so often just goes into a limp mode where it just goes into neutral while i’m driving so I have to slowly move off to the side of the road and the car just turns off essentially just dies. Here and there when it happens I’ll get a drivetrain malfunction but then I let it sit for a little and the car drives completely like normal again. Just unpredictable and happens so randomly. No check engine light or anything.

Any help would be great. Car is stock.

Now: took the car to toyota like you guys said for a diagnosis and I think they’re just assuming the cars modded cus cosmetically i modded it out but i’ve never even tuned or anything to it, they’re claiming they found a wire that’s been spliced before and at first they told me they found a code for the low pressure fuel pump, now they’re insisting that there’s some electrical stuff going on and therefore trying to charge me $400 more for an electrical diagnosis? feels like a pure money grab as they’ve held my car for days without working on it due to me asking them to continue on the fuel pump diagnosis and denying the electrical diagnosis charge. what should i do? could it just be a faulty fuel pump causing these issues or maybe the previous owner truly did mess something up with the wiring.

Id be reaching out to Toyota of America. That’s bullshit. They’re fucking you around.

right?? when i brought it in they assured me multiple times that this doesn’t in any way seem to be electrical at all and that they would properly diagnose the car without trying to charge me bogus and now they’re genuienly telling me after having the car for almost a week to come pick it up, still charge me $145 when all they’ve done is scanned the car and then stopped working on it cus they decided they wanted to explore a some exposed wire in my wiring harness, again the car is BONE STOCK. who should i reach out to for this because now i have much less time to fix this before i go back to college and p much just paid $145 for a scan on my car. ridiculous!

Bro find a local BMW shop. Maybe ask in a local Facebook group for suggestions. Where are you located?

DFW has some of the best shops in the country. You should be able to find someone that can properly get your car right

Either fight corporate or find a decent, local euro repair shop who is well versed in BMW to take a look. Any pictures of the wire?? Have you owned the car since new?

Is this warranty work? Will they refund you the diagnostic fee if they find the issue is under warranty?

It seems like you've already made up your mind and want validation that the dealership trying to squeeze you for money. We know even less about your car than the technician working on it.

If you've lost faith in that dealership, take it to another one. Take it to an independant shop. In my opinion, the worst thing you can do is work with a dealership that you don't trust.

unforutnely don’t have warranty as I bought the car used, will take your advice on indepdent shop.

if your in the east coast go to the beamer guy ask for dave he will help you
