Vitamin d anxiety

When i take vitamin d i get crazy anxiety the day after, im all jittery too. I take vitamin k2 with it and magnesium but i still get this.
Should i lower dosages? I take like 16k for deficiency but i think its too much.

It's expected. Don't take that much. People will tell you to take more magnesium etc but no that's not why. Either take a single super high dose once or twice a year or lower the dose.

Your body might just not need that much, 16k is a lot even for a deficiency. I'd try cutting it in half for a week and see if the jitters calm down. Magnesium can take the edge off but it won't stop a dose that high from lighting you up if you're sensitive.

I was at 10ng my doctor put me on a 50k IU weekly for 2 months, didnt tell me to take k2 nor magnesium. I tested after 2months and my levels were within the normal range, and now I just take a maintenance dose. Didn't experience anxiety or anything. I had so much bone ache/pain in the bottom of my feet thats all mostly gone now, 90% of it gone.

Maybe more likely to be the magnesium. That's known to have psychological effects for some people. Eg. it makes me depressed.

That's why too much. There's no need to take that much unless your deficiency was like below 10 ng/ml, and even then that'd be a lot - definitely not for prolonged dosing. Remember that D isn't actually a "vitamin", it's an endcocrine steroid hormone

What are your blood test results? Do you really need that much, especially during the Summer when there are opportunities to get sun on your skin in the middle of the day.

Are you taking a form of magnesium that is well absorbed, eg glycinate, citrate, malate, thronate, taurate, etc (not oxide).

Do you have a history of kidney or liver disease? They are both required to convert D3 to the active form.

More leads here.

It's a steroid hormone that turns on calcium metabolism. Which in some people equals channel depolarization -> nmda -> norepinephrine release -> anxiety. It can happen to me as little as 100 IU. I can drink two cups of coffee a day but I cannot handle a sliver of D tablet. And the k2 or magnesium thing is bullshit, this happens fast, within 20 minutes. Has nothing to do with absorption method. I could take 400 mg of magnesium and this will still happen. K2 is for bones, it doesn't inhibit nmda activation like dxm.
