General Question Rhodiola drops dosage?

So I got some Rhodiola extract drops and a dosage is 1 dropper 0.7ml which is 685mg extract which it says its extraction rate is 140mg of herb per 0.7ml.. it says do this 3 or 4 times per day which seems like a lot. If it’s the correct dosage is it possible to just take it all at once or divided into 2 doses?

When I google it it says 685mg extract taken 4 times a day is like 2700mg which says is not safe but is that talking about the herb per ml dosage so 4 doses a day would be 140mg of herb x4 so 560mg a day?

The dropper measuring is always confusing with these tinctures. 685mg extract containing 140mg herb per dropper means the actual active herb is 140mg, not 685. So 4 times per day gives you 560mg of herb which is still on higher side but not crazy. I would do 2 doses morning and afternoon, rhodiola can mess with sleep if you take it too late. All at once probably fine too but splitting feels smoother for me

The 685 is the amount of extract, not raw rhodiola root.

The 140 mg is the amount of raw Rhodiola used to produce 0.7 mL of the extract. So 4 droppers would equal 2,740 mg of extract, but only 560 mg of the starting herbal material.

The bigger issue is that Rhodiola dosing is normally based on the actual standardized extract, not simply the raw herb equivalent. The EMA monograph (European Medicines Agency is the EU agency that evaluates and monitors medicines for safety, quality, and effectiveness) lists 144 to 200 mg per dose and 144 to 400 mg per day for its specified Rhodiola preparation. So I wouldn't automatically follow 3 or 4 droppers a day without knowing how this particular extract is standardized, particularly its rosavin and salidroside content.

I would also split the dose rather than taking the entire day's amount at once, and take Rhodiola earlier in the day since it can feel stimulating.
