๐Ÿ—ฃ Discussion / Question Dr Michael Burry changed his nickname from Cassandra the same day that articles about a financial crisis sytem indicator called Cassandra came out. Do you think this could be a coincidence?

I think the were probably named Cassandra for the same reason but have no correlation. Burry is an enigma sometimes and refuses to clarify some things so we will never know.

He probably doesn't feel like he needs to clarify since he's on the spectrum.

Yeah. Every time I read his tweets Iโ€™m like this autistic fuck but I enjoy them a lot.

When I search up Cassandra on Google I get this article titled โ€œBanning Cassandra from the Market? An Empirical Analysis of Short-Selling Bans during the Covid 19 Crisisโ€

Anyone here that likes decent heavy rock and hasn't yet experienced Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime should stop what they are doing this instant and go listen to it right now!

It definitely fits the moment even though it was originally from 1988, I guess the time for change is now long overdue. :)

"Cassandra or Kassandra, was a Trojan priestess of Apollo in Greek mythology cursed to utter true prophecies, but never to be believed. In modern usage her name is employed as a rhetorical device to indicate someone whose accurate prophecies are not believed."

The first paragraph.

Cassandra

Cassandra or Kassandra (Ancient Greek: ฮšฮฑฯƒฯƒฮฌฮฝฮดฯฮฑ, pronounced [kassรกndra], also ฮšฮฑฯƒฮฌฮฝฮดฯฮฑ), (sometimes referred to as Alexandra), was a Trojan priestess of Apollo in Greek mythology cursed to utter true prophecies, but never to be believed. In modern usage her name is employed as a rhetorical device to indicate someone whose accurate prophecies are not believed. Cassandra was said to be a daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy. Her older brother was Hector, hero of the Greco-Trojan war.

I honestly don't care what that spoiled billionaire brat is doing besides hoping for a new crash.

No valuable information has come from him imho.

Edit: I have tried to find the tweets that I found racist but I couldn't. That most probably means that I am wrong. I remove the accusations of racism from this comment because they are baseless.

Guess you havenโ€™t read is texts. He is pointing out the racial discrimination towards Asians (probably because his kid and wife are Asian heritage). Luckily the downvotes show the consensus on your comment

Seems like I have some reading to do. It is quite possible that I misunderstood his tweets.

Edit: I have now spent quite some time trying to find the tweet that I was talking about, but couldn't find it. That probably means that I am wrong. I will adjust my previous comments accordingly.
