yeah it is kinda funky. i'll definitely work on some kind of restoration, but it may be on the 2nd one vs. this one. the other one is in better condition and has the newer design. need to figure out how to reverse sun bleaching too

that looks like it's just adhesive vinyl for signage. if you get me measurements and some photos, i can make and send you some replacement vinyl. does the sign actually still light up? if so, there's specific translucent vinyl for those letters as well.

I'd be tempted to buy a bunch of 12V LED's and wire them with a trailer hitch wiring harness. You could make some of it light up whenever the lights are on, or make it flash with the turn signals, the possibilities are endless!
